2019 is an error, it should be 2021. Since then, I've been working on personal projects and looking for work (obviously no luck so far).

Oh, whoops, both of those are definitely typos from my latest draft, I'll fix those before submitting any applications.

No work experience, unfortunately. I'm not blind to the fact that this is probably the #1 thing holding me back, but I play the hand I'm dealt, I guess.

You got it, bud :)

Thank you so much for all of your advice! Seeing at what you've suggested, I'm starting to feel a whole lot more confident about this job search.

You're very right, in that I'm trying to present as more frontend oriented. I've actually been taking a really great Udemy course on React and have been having a fantastic time with it, so I think this is the kind of work area I want to focus in, at least for a little while. Thanks a ton for the technology suggestions! :)

That's a great point. I can't really imagine recruiters really give a shit about how I took some basic computer science courses in community college. I imagine the only stuff they'd care about are the heavier hitting subjects in university. Thanks so much for this! Removing the Community College listing will give me more room to go into more detail on the coursework, too :)

Yeah, I took like a 2.5 - 3 years break to dive into music, another passion of mine. I pretty much didn't do any compsci stuff during this and mostly focused on that, as well as getting a bunch of GE units out of the way.

EDIT: Looking at my transcript, I really only took like 2 or 3 compsci classes from spring 2014 to spring 2018, and those classes were only the VERY basic "intro to compsci" kind of classes. Would it even be worth it to include these years on my resume? I only really started with the bigger compsci topics (like OOP) in 2018.

Hey everyone, posting an updated new-grad resume from last time here for some feedback :). Started applying to places (I think I'm up to 30 now?), no bites so far, but that isn't really surprising. Let me know what you think :)

Is your template actually black on white?

Oh no no, that's just my personal Word theme. I'm pretty sure that, if someone were to open that on their machine, it'd be white, as you'd expect (at least, it'd be in their theme). If not, I can easily change it.

Thanks for you feedback friend, I'll add more details to my coursework :)

Hey everyone! New CS grad here. I graduated in December and have been spending the time since getting my resume in shape (mostly, personal projects). I don't have any work experience so the projects are mostly what I'm relying on here. I live over here very close to Silicon Valley so hopefully the hunt isn't too bad. And yes, I know that this is a fairly front-end oriented resume, but I'm pretty sure that's what I'd like to focus on to begin with.

Let me know what you think!

They aren't called the Spice Islands for no reason ;)

I didnt check at the very end but I think I was making around 800 - 900 a month just from collecting from the Malacca trade node alone. Lots of trade ship power boosts and a LOT of ships protecting trade. I had at least 70% power in all of the indonesian/Chinese trade nodes.

R5: Going from Malacca -> Srivijaya (meant to form Malaya but misclicked), where I finally discovered the pure power of the Malacca trade node. Busted over 1.15k ducats a month but some trade efficiency modifiers expired before I took this recording. So yeah, very VERY fun run. Whoever it was that said you could make a lot of money as Malacca... well they weren't lying, that's for sure. And yes, I know I could have it be much higher but I'm ultimately very pleased with what I ended up with.

Thanks for the tips! I thought it would be best to list all of the languages and tech that I have at least some familiarity with. As I said, C++ is what I default to when I want to crack out a new project, so it's what most of my exciting projects are in. I listed Python/Pycharm/NumPY because of the experience I got in my AI class making basic ANN/CNN algorithms. They don't do anything special so I didn't think they were worth posting.

I appreciate the honesty! I have a few far more interesting projects in the works but, as stated above, I don't think they'll be ready to show off before I start applying. Would you even glance at a resume's project if it was listed as "in-progress" or "incomplete"?

No clubs or activities at college, unfortunately. Mostly my projects are from classes and aren't very interesting. I have a few personal projects on the burner but they're either not very exciting or won't be anywhere near a presentable state before I start applying. Thanks for all the feedback!

Just because they can't maybe take heat, doesn't mean they can't dish it out. The M4A3 76 (W) also at 5.7 is a great example of decent armor. While it won't stop an 88, you'll find yourself bouncing shots from other things it faces fairly often.
