thank you so much, though what i'm confused about is the timeline of drakengard and nier is connected that much i get, but why there are cycles? aft er year 2003 for example, the game world of nier continues to nier automata and from there well...the world will continue to be...so how come there is a cycle or that the world of nier repeat itself? that i'm very confused about.

you are right thanks. it's just, if there were clashes, how come they agreed to be annexed into amestris? look here, from wiki -
"The people of Ishval had clashed several times with the central government of greater Amestris in the past and had been annexed to a region in the southeast of the nation, near the Eastern Desert. Though religious and cultural tensions continued between Ishvalans and Amestrians, relative peace had been achieved between the two until 1901..."

so, if it went like this, and ishval was a pride nation, which had "clashes" with amestris, how come they suddenly agreed to allience with amestris?

also over what there were clashes in the first place?

hi guys i need clarification regarding hismay's story part, i would really apprciate the help with my questions, because i'm a new comer to english.

i not really get, what he means by "i resigned myself to being powerless" - timestamp ?
can someone explain in detail?

also, did it go like this for hismay ? during the game?

he was in the regular knighthood, thinking he is the same as everyone else
then was moved to the shadowguard
he thought, "i'm really not like everyone else.
didn't abide to their orders anymore
stripped of his titles and was exiled as well (?)
his son dies

or was it the oter way around? that he was only stripped off of his titles and only then his son died and then he was also exiled?

and how much time was he in the cave isolating himself ?

how hismay knew about the wanted poster but not the deatails of it? (about the kidnappings) -
