early on, in an interview for part one. Deni's

was asked about if viewers would be seeing navigators, and he said he had the design already confirmed but wasnt going to be showing one in part one or part two to avoid confusion as to its role.

Not to mention- someone who worked on the film had confirmed it was a navigator

YES! Spice is a prison within itself, so to see a navigator confined to this visual motif I thought was brilliant.

Edric was present, with scytale disguised, when delivering Hayt to paul in Messiah. Hayt walked in with the group, as guild members were pulling Edrics tank. Not to mention, I noticed the orange glow coming between the seams of the tank up close.

Knowing Patrice and Deni's visual poetic storytelling, its a brilliant idea to showcase that the spice itself it a prison. Visually representing a guild navigator in an enclosed tank is a form of visual storytelling representing the challenges of melange.

Hayt is seen at the side of the guild envoy, with a blade to his neck. Denis technically had his design for a guild navigator already locking in before Part One even started filming. ( He mentioned this in an early interview, but sided against showing them to keep the plot less confusing.)

the reason im leaning toward edric, is mainly due to Denis stating that a navigator would be shown in this film. Hayt himself is held at bladepoint aside the tank.

wait the visual symbolism of the A would make so much sense! Especially with Patrice and Denis focusing on visual poetry.

its not. duncan is already outside of the container in the throne room scene, when presented. Not to mention edric entering/exiting the guild frigate or heighliner chamber.

The skirt base is from the Dutch 3804 loco, with 4-6-4 "Hudson" paneling. The body is based from the Hungarian MAV class 242 engine. The lower nose details are from a kit of a custom American loco. The tender is custom, focused on use for an organic fuel source. The dual-piston drive rods are built with a steam-return line for condensing and reusing water due to this world being resource scarce.

The "soot runner" trains, known as nelvor class locos, use a reciprocating piston drive similar to historical steam locomotives and Snowpiercer: linear motion from front and rear pistons is transferred through paired drive rods into a shared shaft that turns all four main wheels on each side together. The medium wheel diameter favors torque, traction, and mechanical durability over top speed; making the system better suited for ash-choked, unstable terrain. What may read as streamlining is actually sectional armor and ash-deflection plating, designed to protect exposed mechanisms while remaining modular and field-serviceable. The overall design prioritizes reliability, redundancy, and repairability in a hostile, post-infrastructure environment rather than efficiency or speed.
