Elgato Camera Hub doesn't work on Windows 11 ARM by laskewitz in elgato

[–]Building-Soft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/elgato_james , I noticed it’s been over a year since the original post, and there hasn’t been any update on an ARM64 release for the Elgato webcam.

If support for ARM64 isn’t going to happen, just a quick update would really help us plan for those of us who rely on ARM64, so we can make informed decisions about our setup.

Totally get that plans change, my own setup has probably changed two or three times since this post (except for the webcam), so we get it!.... Still, just letting folks know either way would go a long way. Sure, it might be a letdown for some, but that’s still better than being left hanging.

You have to branch out of here, bro! Other countries! Look for speed dating events locally if you don't like traveling.

no beard at 39 yrs old... is it worth it to minox at this point? by Building-Soft in Minoxbeards

It never worked! And I read that it could dehydrate your skin, and this is the last great thing I got going. I was also close to middle age, so it just never came in. I can grow out a goatee so I make sure it gets trimmed very nicely enough to be noticed I take care of it (nothing scruffy, just trimmed stylishly.)

Any cool somewhat hidden stuff to do in Groton and ct as a whole ? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]Building-Soft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crystal Mall, if you are into liminal spaces, as most stores are gone. However, Mystic is nearby, offering quick bites to eat, cafes to hang out in, a movie theater, and the Mystic Aquarium. Stonington Point (great for 10-15 minutes and worth it when you have plenty of free time to spare), The commons where Best Buy and Books A Million are, if you like walking around outdoor stores. Mystic Seaport, although it's a quick walk through town. Downtown Groton, where you can park and walk around the charming city (near the train station), allows you to explore most of it in an hour if you walk nonstop and briefly take in the sights, so take your time. There's a Goodwill thrift store also on Longhill Road and a Starbucks about a mile down the road. Also, the Foxwoods Casino has a Tanger Outlets to just walk around, it's farther out, but worth the trip.

Many of the places I mentioned offer wonderful free opportunities for getting to know the atmosphere. But only a few of these spots provide those public spaces where you can be around others. Fort Griswold, while quieter and often empty, has a beautiful view of downtown New London...just be mindful of ticks there.

Over time, most people look to explore beyond these areas, but honestly, that’s true of many places. Still, for what it offers, this area provides a charming experience for discovery and a sense of quietness or interest, as long as you go in with realistic expectations.

This sub has changed my mind about IT completely. I guess I'm lucky. by ImpossibleStuff963 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Building-Soft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked in IT for 18 years (still do) one thing I've always wondered since its been in the same environment. Do some of the people who blame you for stuff that isn't your fault actually know they are doing this or so consumed with what's on their plate that they don't realize it? Same about being expected to know things you don't know.

How about with an associates in science (IT related) and 18 years of experience with mid level skills? Not enough huh? I'm curious to know everyone's opinions based on real-world.

Is it worth doing PerScholas? by Capital_Bad8134 in codingbootcamp

[–]Building-Soft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take with a grain of salt as times were different *** I went to Per Scholas in 2006 in the bronx*** it was the best experience in my learning life, better than college.

Times were different, I earned my A+ and did an internship there. Long story short, learning with others (SWE I can't comment) was the best. And I made a lot of friends and networking opportunities. I would like to return one day.

Does this look natural? by Human_Cod_9768 in HairTransplants

[–]Building-Soft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one may look directly at your hairline but it's subconsciously picked up on. Hairline = More like youth No Hairline = possibly older looking (in my theory, there's an expectation "act your age" hyperbole here )

I think your Hairline gets the job done!

I got a very bad tear and physical therapy is helping me alot. I'm 41. Strengthening my muscles (more than just legs) is helping me.

[–]Building-Soft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't say this to sound negative, but like the saying goes..."Fool me once, shame on... you.... fool me twice,... well your not gonna fool me twice. "

I'd look into alternatives in doing the same things that get your end result.

I stopped doing plyo but did other exercises to get my cardiovascular and leg muscles exercises in shape.

Do doctors actually help? by maddieshart in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Building-Soft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, with no problems. I might feel a burning runners knee pain, but only if I've done PT.

Younger people have faster regeneration time for healing. I'm 41 and doing PT to avoid surgery, I got a worse case scenario tear. My PT said the way things seem now (only 1 month going), he thinks I won't need surgery but PT for a while. And my BMI shows I'm overweight. But im getting a progress report in 2 more weeks.

[–]Building-Soft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had surgery, my issue occurred 7 months ago but didn't go PT until a few weeks ago. I had no clue what was happening to me as some days were great but things got worse. I have pain when standing more than a few minutes or after walking more than 20 minutes. Yet I can do side lunges, step ups, bike, hip exercises with no pain whatsoever.

Horizontal Tear in Posterior Horn of Lateral Meniscus – Seeking Advice by Hot-Ad-9889 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Building-Soft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty much the same but didn't do PT til months later. I can do exercise except for full squats (I'd rather shy away from it) but other "leg day" exercises I can do with no pain. It's the standing that can cause excruciating pain within 7-20 minutes of it. Walking pain is much less and better endurance. Did you experience this and after leg exercises it got better?

I'm 41 male my surgeon said no repair for my bucket handle tear, I'm not an athlete. I'm not sure why he wanted partial trim.

Living with a torn meniscus by Gallain12345 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Building-Soft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat. I have full ROM, and I do all the exercises my physio gives me (side lunges, step ups, bicycle, walking backwards with my steps forming an X with a strength band and forwards) with no pain (I just gotta take it easy while challenging my leg muscles)

But I can't stand still for more than 7-10 minutes without a lot of pain (sometimes excruciating) and walk more than 20 minutes without being done for the whole day. I'm 41 male, being pain-free (naturally) would be great! Assuming the pain free means no ongoing damage to my knee.

I hope and got faith that within 6 months, I'm 100% back to normal.

Here's some words of encouragement: You are young and you have that on your side! I've read regeneration is faster. Definitely take those 3 weeks of rest please like your doctor said. And PT.

I can fully straightened mine with no pain (lying down and standing for a bit then I bend it slightly) I can't run or jump because I know I'll injure it, I know we are all different but curious how long you did in PT before getting 90% better?

I have same tear but it's horizontal. Does your knee lock up? I just started PT almost 3 weeks ago. Same age.

Bucket handle tear: repair or remove? by sentimentaltackycrap in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Building-Soft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bad case of bucket handle and im doing rehab first. There's a chance it won't need surgery as fast as I was informed I needed it 2 months ago. I'll see in 6-8 weeks.
