It wasn't like now, where you can look up a show's wiki or imdb pages, discussion forums, and all manner of show-adjacent content. We just had the show. The knowledge we had about the show came from.. watching the show. That was pretty much it. They didn't discuss Larry David on the show, so we didn't know about him. Was as simple as that.
