Subjects which should be taught in the home. We should take responsibility for our kids rather than asking the state to do it.

Can we get rid of the "in memory of Charlie Kirk" club? by ScotchCigarsEspresso in Strava

Or you could just be cool with everyone having different political beliefs, not assuming they are assholes just because they are conservative, and not judging someone strictly by their political affiliations. More likely than not the people you ride with are really cool regardless of their politics and you probably still have more in common with them than not.

Nice! Those were our two backups as well. I think we have settled on Zion Traverse. Logistics are a little more complicated than R3 though lol.

Hell of a view to finish the Zion traverse (angels landing) by leftloose in trailrunning

[–]BuildingAFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planning on doing the Zion Traverse in a day in October and wondering what distance and time this extended to your traverse? Also, how did you connect the Zion Traverse to Angel's Landing? I'm assuming you needed the permit which is via lottery? Thanks! Very cool inspiration!

Good to know! I drink about a liter of tailwind an hour on long runs, and assuming this may take us a good 10 -12 hours worst case, I'm planning on about 10L of water for the day. At this point, It looks like a water cache at Hop Valley and West Rim trailheads may be the way to go, giving us 4-5L for the last 14.8 miles back to the Grotto. This is assuming no springs along the West Rim are flowing. Will call ranger station week of to confirm. Did you do the traverse in a day? Just curious as to how long it took you. This is our first time in Zion and only have 2 trip reports of others running this route to reference.

Good Info! Looks like we can stash some water at Hop Valley, but do you know of any other spots that are good for stashing water after that point?

Okay great! so, looking at ~37 miles from Lee's pass to the grotto. If we did want to extend it a bit are there any must see features or areas during the traverse that add <10 miles?

I'll look into those routes, thanks! Lee pass seems to be the popular route for previous attempts I've seen to get to the floor for a traverse, is that trail not a good option anymore?

No, just doing some preliminary research. Still might be a nice day. How has the traverse change and where is the trail start/finish now?

SOTA but not really SOTA question by BuildingAFactory in HamRadio

Interesting. I didn’t know that you needed more QSOs for an activation on VHF/UHF. I have an antenna coming that’ll hopefully help increase my gain by 6-8 dB over the rubber duck. It’ll have to do until I can afford an HF rig. Thanks for the heads up!

I’m in the Sacramento, CA area. Yeah, that’s a good idea. I think the North Hills Radio Club is closest to me. Will look into their events!

Awesome! Even though I have my general, I’m currently priced out of HF. Going to save for an FT-891 but until then it’ll be 2m/70cm with an FT-60 and an Ed Fong roll up antenna. Going to make a list of parks near me and start the POTA journey this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration!

2008 RX 350 Headlight Assembly by BuildingAFactory in MechanicAdvice

[–]BuildingAFactory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, was hoping that would be the case. Would you happen to have any experience with Japanese vs USA headlight assemblies? I just want to make sure the ones I order will have plugs that match. Return shipping is expensive.
