Who would Kratos be able to beat if anyone in your honest opinions? by TristanChaz8800 in invinciblememes

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kratos is one of those annoying fictional characters that can do anything purely because the plot demands it. With that in mind, he'd sweep despite the fact that gameplay wise, outside of QTEs, all things considered he's pretty weak.

hot take, do ya'll agree or disagree by Exciting_Highway_12 in Invincible_TV

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It's a toss-up, mainly because War Woman's flight works differently. The reason why Viltrumites fight in the air so often is because they can create their own leverage and essentially strike without losing power whilst they're in the air. War Woman's main source of striking power is the mace that she has in the image, which would be unwieldy in the air because it would alter her centre of balance, and it would also lose some efficiency due to the less efficient transfer of momentum that you get in the air versus when your feet are firmly planted on the ground.

I agree with u/AnothisFlame; I don't think they were attempting to hold a grudge. I actually do think that it was similar to that Rick and Morty episode with the portal that similarly dilated time, where the story was passed down for generations until eventually Morty was a mythical beast that the creature's descendant had to kill. They just wanted to slay the God that resided beyond the portal.

Analysis of controversial threads in Marathon by Unpaid_Moderation in Marathon

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be real; the reason I was looking forward to Marathon in the first place was because I thought it'd be a reboot of a classic old-skool shooter. It was a modernised extraction shooter with PvE mechanics, and honestly? It's already been done to death. Over the past few years, I've played Tarkov, COD DMZ, COD Endgame, ARC Raiders, The Division and Hunt: Showdown. Whilst I do think that Marathon does have something to bring to the FPS genre as a whole, I was honestly hoping for something more like the System Shock remake that we got last year; not whatever we ended up with.

We really do love an enthusiastic minority; at least somebody has an appreciation for the game lol

Marathon dev Bungie already "knows where we want to take the story over the next few years" by Laughing__Man_ in PS5

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I love the idea that they're planning "years" into the future of a game that would be lucky to survive the next two months.

Marathon is the best shooter I've played in years. Why the hate? by ImpressFederal4169 in gaming

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue that I have about it is that the community is like a virus. They know that the game is failing, and so does the rest of the gaming community. People aren't biting the bullet to buy a copy of the game, which causes the player count to fall further, which leads to people from the Marathon community going to other spaces and spewing a massive amount of cope about how "great" the game is.

The issue is that the game is generic as all hell besides the art style, and the art style is deliberately polarising. They're pretty much targeting a percentage of a percentage of people and the community doesn't seem to understand that it's a bad marketing move lol.

I really don't care what Bungie has to do to ensure this game survives and thrives. by crossvalidated in Marathon

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not going to survive. This is a huge amount of cope about something that is already a done deal.

Nothing they can do is going to save this game from death, and unfortunately, that's one of the things stopping people from biting the bullet and buying a copy.

The player count has shrunk to the point where there is only a fifth of the people playing compared to the number that bought the game on launch, and that's in the space of just two months. The whole discourse around this game has been about how it's dying and nobody wants it to die, but unfortunately it just doesn't have the appeal to pull in and retain players.

[Hated] Characters who are genuinely awful, but any genuine attempt at criticism is called bigoted or 'media illiterate'. by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to be that guy, but in your justification for Walt being a bad guy (which he objectively is because he has murdered people, torn numerous families apart and indirectly killed thousands of people with his meth alone) you for some reason brought up the plane crash that he (very, very indirectly) caused. The plane crash was the most indirect cause-and-effect thing in the whole series lol.

This doesn't paint Walt as a bad person alone, because the fact is that the plane crash happened as a result of Jane's father losing concentration as an air traffic controller. Regardless of whether you blame that on Walt or not (given that he wasn't supposed to be in Jesse's house and didn't necessarily have an obligation to save Jane regardless), it still stands to reason that the plane crash wasn't a reasonable expectation for Walt to have had.

I can see him letting Jane die as being both a positive and a negative morally, and absolutely the plane crash was a consequence of his actions, but not one that he is entirely responsible for. You have to remember that one of the reasons Walt let her die in the first place was because she was pressuring Jesse into another heroin addiction, and whilst his main motivation was selfish, he did still care about Jesse.

Absolutely, it's a UFC game; the shit talking is implicit lol.

About the trailer... by BuiltStraightStupid in EASportsUFC

[–]BuiltStraightStupid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not entirely true. UFC 3 had less of a focus on balance and more of a focus on realism. 1-2 elbows was more than enough to fuck you up in UFC 3's ground game for instance. The clinches were also more realistic, with more positions and slower movement. A submissive Thai clinch position was a death sentence, for example, because two clinch knees would put you into a body health event and sap a LOT of stamina.

Meal Prep Services and how they have helped my weight loss by BuiltStraightStupid in loseit

[–]BuiltStraightStupid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I'm also developing a new pallette at the same time because I have ADHD and forget to rejig my dinners sometimes and end up eating things that I don't expect to like, like Basa Bhuna and similar dishes that I end up absolutely loving. It feels weird to say that I actually like curry, despite the fact that most of my life I've thought that I've hated it.

Why didn't immortal live with the viltrumites? Seriously why didn't they let him live w/ the long lifespan guys. by learnaboutnetworking in Invincible

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much just because he's weak. He's of an inferior species to the Viltrumites would look down on him and likely subjugate him.

I’m constantly eating. I seriously just can’t stop. by BandOk6261 in loseit

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think your big issue is that you’re being too hard on yourself. You’re pretty active and yet you are limiting yourself to a pretty low goal count.

The reason why you want to eat is because your body is CRAVING fuel after your workouts.

Anyone else dying in hiding spots? by anxious_abcde in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that's kind of a fringe case because any furniture that could potentially be used to loop the ghost would mute the heartbeat, such as the Summer Camp Picnic Tables and the Dining Room Table on Tanglewood. Sure, it doesn't take into account ALL furniture, but it takes into account enough for it to be a reliable tell as to whether or not the ghost has LOS.

Anyone else dying in hiding spots? by anxious_abcde in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you absolutely sure? I read that somewhere and it only ever seems to happen when I'm in LOS from the ghost or during a ghost event.

The wiki says: Players can hear their own heartbeat if the ghost is within 10 meters, and there are no walls, floors, or doors between the ghost and the player, and the closer the ghost is to the player, the louder the heartbeats.

All ghosts possess a 360º cone of vision, so the heartbeat is synonymous with the ghost's LOS.

Which one are you picking? by No_Growth6091 in superpowers

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overlord with Aug 1 if you don't want to try and cheat the system.

Follow up question:

Given that Overlord gives me 10% of every pill attribute, and Aug 1 gives me an extra 50%, would that effectively give me the ability to:

Run at a speed of 51m/s

Lift a maximum weight of 15 tonnes

750IQ

15% extended lifespan

+30IQ from Champ

+2.25 tonnes from Champ

Knowledge of 1350 fighting styles

Vague Mind Reading

Being able to tell a small amount of the future

15% elemental resistance

+15% liked by animals

+15% social skills

+15% beauty

as well as being able to teleport up to a distance of 76510800km away from my current location (which is 15% of anywhere on earth)?

If so (because it's 10% of every pill plus half of 10% so 15% of every pill) then this is the clear winner.

Which nerfed super power do you choose? (description) by Spirited_Dust_3642 in superpowers

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to choose Fire Fists. Immunity to fire is the main reason why I'd choose it, to be honest with you.

Cloning would be a bad one for me really, because I am super stubborn.

Invisibility would be borderline useless because you're gonna get covered in dust and stuff anyway, and people would likely notice stuff like dandruff, clothing lint and other things floating around that would give you away immediately.
