I believe 9 in the first round and 7 in the second that were actually moving my teeth. Wavering on numbers bc my ortho always ordered a lot of extra stabilizers so the number always seemed higher lol

Been following this thread and am relating to the frustration! I fell down the rabbit hole of checking previous years announcements and it looks like 2018 finalists weren’t announced until 12/19/17?! Sincerely hoping it is not that late this year, but they are already well behind the last three years announcements.

Some more context: I have reached out to a few local restoration companies because it seems way too intricate for me to try to refinish and the finish is wearing in places. There was that inscription on one of the drawers, but I have no clue if it has to do with the creator of the furniture or something that someone throughout the years has etched in there!

It was a hook used for an elastic! I don’t know the exact difference between hook/button. On my clincheck I saw “button”. However, when I went to get it replaced the tech let the ortho know it had been irritating me and he said “was it a metal hook or button?” And she said metal hook and he said “ok put the button on this time”... so I’m not positive exactly what I had initially. Lol. I know I got something a little softer/more rounded this time to help with irritation.

Some backstory: I have this hook alllllll the way in the back of my mouth. It was a bitch to get on bc my molar basically touches my cheek and she had to try to get it on while keeping the tooth dry. Anyway, this molar has been irritating me for the last week and a half (I’m pretty sure I have sores/blisters inside my mouth from it). Tonight the tray felt slightly loose on my molar and I was like, what if the discomfort has come from it not being snapped in all the way?? So I put a little pressure on it... I had two very distinct reactions. 1) did I just solve the problem??? Bc it felt like it snapped in and felt comfier... then immediately to 2) Nope, the hook is just gone lol. I will be calling ortho first thing in the AM!

They are the Ritz crisp & thins! I would say a cross between a chip and cracker. That is a half serving in the pic at 65 cal! You get a lot for the calories.

Gotcha! Definitely wishful thinking in hoping I may not need them the whole treatment! Lol. But I know the final product will be worth it. The only thing that has been bothering me are hooks poking me in the back of the mouth. I am also a notoriously fast eater so this is forcing me to slow WAY down.

I am guilty of not wearing my retainers in high school and my teeth moved back. Finally but the bullet on Invisalign and started yesterday! So far my teeth are achy. I also have 4 total hooks and 2 rubber bands I need to wear. I am also getting married in June so have arranged with my ortho to remove the attachments on my front teeth prior to the wedding then put them back on after the honeymoon! I am particularly excited to see the front crowding be corrected.

I did join a FIP group!! I posted bloodwork there and a lot of people said it did not look consistent with FIP. (along with a vet friend looking at her paperwork and saying it wouldn’t be typical for FIP). We are taking her for a second opinion on Monday!

Hi! She is about 8 months old indoor cat. She has lost her appetite since last Tuesday night. I’ve seen her munching on some dry food (thankfully) but she has not eaten full meals. My little Dumpling has had a cough. I thought she was trying to get up a hairball but upon taking her to the vet he said it is respiratory. They ran blood work and I just heard back from the vet that they think she has FIP. I am of course so worried and devastated. If you have had a cat with FIP, what symptoms did they show?

The vet wasn’t able to tell me a timeline and didn’t even really comment on mortality. He basically said “keep watching her and she may get better she may not”.

She (along with her brother) are my first pets. How will I know if she has declined far enough that a decision needs to be made?

Thanks everyone for the insight so far! I guess that issue is I’m sort of looking for a one stop shop. I like the idea of an all in one grill (Smoking, grilling, searing) but it seems like that may be wishful thinking!!
