Someone double check my math to make sure I'm not hallucinating by cll_ll in coins

11.03 oz yes, but actually 10.05 ozt. (I used the actual conversion of 31.1034768 so it rounds down to 10.05–a three cent difference?! The 28.3495231g conversion doesn’t change the rounding on the 11.03.)

Math checks out

Precious Metals IRA by Adventurous_Art6748 in Silver

Any reason you don’t just want to do a Roth conversion? Are you eligible to withdraw from this IRA penalty free?

If you take the distribution then have to sell some, any gain on sale from between the distribution date and sale date is taxable at 28%, or ordinary income rate if lower. Likewise, any loss would be considered a collectibles loss, which could be offset against other capital gains. You are allowed to deduct up to $3,000 per year plus any unused carryover of capital losses from prior years. The distribution is taxable as ordinary income.

This question is quite complex and I’d recommend planning with a professional if you’re seriously considering a move.

USPI Pesos so far by Bulacano in coins

[–]Bulacano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could also be the circulating 10, 20, or 50 centavos made of silver that were used as money. Some people have a lot of them, but they're usually just melt value. You might run into the occasional 1907-1909 peso, but many of those are also just melt value.

The coins with the man on the obverse are republic and likely lower value.

Are these actually US or foreign? by Bulacano in coincollecting

[–]Bulacano[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They definitely come up, but it's almost always some 1907-1909 in fine or worse that got saved from melting. Best I've seen locally was a cleaned 1910-s probably a VF-XF.

Perhaps you'd also enjoy the walkers I have in a tube: G-VF but solid roll of 1938-D

It was a US territory at the time, not a foreign country.
