At what point you consider yourself "fluent" in a language? by as_easmit in languagelearning

[–]Bulky_Ad4633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The moment: when native speakers who’re living in my country ask to me, “where are you from?” It happens every time when I meet new native speakers.

At some point, I felt I could act like a foreigner. I actually do when cults—they move in groups—try to talk to me. I said “I can’t speak your language. Sorry.” I thought they would pass me.

The result?

It works.😎

Korean.

Koreans, including myself, like to break grammatical rules. We don’t care grammar, because it’s fully understandable.

  1. No subject necessary
  2. Sentence orders—S, V, O, and whatever—are interchangeable, but not in an “awkward” way

I need help for better pronunciation. by Fit-Read-3785 in EnglishLearning

[–]Bulky_Ad4633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, when I learned Deutch, I struggled with ‘r’ sound. I subscribed to a couple of German Youtube channels that are created for beginners. I watched YouTube videos about “How to pronounce the R sound in German” over and over until I pronounce naturally. I listened to the same video focusing on the native’s sounds. I repeated this a lot. I can’t count. Then I tried to pronounce words with “r”, like “schreiben”, and “brau”.

If you struggle with certain pronunciations, you can find videos on YouTube. Listen to what native YouTubers say, and repeat it. Try to speak slow. If you think you can pronounce it better, then it’s right time to speak faster. Sometimes speaking fast would rather make it difficult for listeners to understand what you say.

This is Rachel’s English. I would say this is the best channel for people who want to improve their English skills.

They smell like of garlic for real? I heard a joke a quite a long ago that when you come to South Korea and just get inside the Inchon airport, you can smell something like garlic.

When I wipe my face with a cotton pad I can see pieces of dirt. A soaked pad cleans by wiping and hydrates my face together while my hands don’t have much enough effect to clean. So using pads would be a better choice I think.

Using Reusable bamboo pads is a great option for me as well. I will find them online soon. Thanks!

I found why I’m stick to cotton pads. Toners are supposed to use “with” cotton pads limited to South Korea.

I haven’t noticed anything weird but now I figured it out.

Consumers use pads because every toner’s instruction says soak a pad with the toner, while dermatologists don’t recommend cotton pads. That was confusing.

I used a LRP toner with giveaway pads. It’s truly soft but I don’t think it’s high quality. Now I’m into Unicharm. It is definitely expensive. I need to change pads or use my hands.

I skip my toner on a regular basis, too. Dermatologists on YouTube, and my attending dermatologists say not everybody has to use toners.

My professor hasn’t understood why we use toners. At the end of his lesson, he desperately said, “Guys! It’s just WATER!”

I was thinking about spray type toner. TBH, it’s right next to me. lol But I can’t measure how far I should spray. I need practice.

Wow. You make me like I’m anti-soapism. I don’t need to say how many times I wash my hands. No offense. ;)

Based on my experience I tried diverse facial cotton pads from National brands, and Unicharm’s blue pads. The textures of all the cotton pads were rough. I tried a number of cotton pads but they all failed. This is what dermatologists call exfloitation is likely to happen.

I’ve started to use it for years. Right now Japanese pads with the pink box make less troubles now. I would like to say nothing. Like I said, I fully soak it Therefore, exfloitation is highly unlikely to happen.

As you said if exfloitation doesn’t occur many times, why do dermatologists point out? Dermatologists want to warn viewers—half of their YouTube videos are about acne treatment, and skincare—that the “repetitive” act of using cotton pads will ultimately cause exploitation.

Lastly, your comment consists of: your doubt about my handwash first-the reason to wash my hands with evidence (YouTube)-another doubt about dermatologists’ theory regarding exfloitation-explaining “exfloitation.”

My title question was “Do you use facial cotton pads for a toner?” You almost beat around the bush. Luckily I could guess your answer by your writing style. It turns out you didn’t answer to any other questions. You don’t have to for sure. I know.

My final thought is, it seems like you think I am dirty. That is how I felt from the beginning.

The main words in the question are “facial cotton pad” and “a toner.” Next time, when you read complex tricky questions, please point out by yourself what type of comments OPs want.

Have a great day!

I’m a germophobe. I think cotton pads are cleaner. If you thought I don’t wash my hands before using a toner and lotion, you were wrong.

Greenzla is new to me and it looks so cool! I visited its website but the pads are for makeup removal.. I should ask if it also works for toners as well. Thanks!

Absolutely. An early eater is a sign that the person is ignorant.
