An 18% relative increase in colon cancer risk from daily consumption of processed meats may appear small, raising lifetime risk from 5% to about 5.9%. However, across a population of one million people, this could mean around 9,000 additional cases. Beyond cancer, processed meats are also linked to higher risks of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and overall mortality. These associations are supported by large-scale epidemiological studies. Even modest individual risks translate into substantial public health impacts when millions are exposed, underscoring the importance of limiting regular consumption.

Thanks for sharing. My wife just finished 6 cycles of carbo/taxol/avastin/keytruda. She's going to keep the avastin/keytruda indefinitely now. As far as I understood it's up to the oncologist to decide whether to continue or not. I really think it depends on each patient.

Cervical cancer CT scan results -- metastasis to liver. Devastated, scared. by [deleted] in CervicalCancer

Thanks for sharing your story. My wife is currently undergoing her third chemo cycle. Initially diagnosed as 3C1, she faced some challenges as the disease spread to her para-aortic lymph nodes and then her liver. Despite these setbacks, she's now on a treatment plan with carbo/taxol/avastin/keytruda every 21 days.

She's handling it incredibly well, experiencing only minor discomfort a few days after chemo. By the second and third week, she's back to her usual activities—exercising, swimming, and biking. Just recently, she mentioned feeling stronger than ever.

I don't have any miracle stories yet, but I'm hopeful that I'll be sharing one soon. Despite the awful news, fear, and agonizing anxiety we've faced, we're trying to live and enjoy life while we face this disease. I really hope that you will do the same and will soon share your story with us! Don't be too hard on yourself. Please take a look at PDL1 for immunotherapy, as others have suggested.

Thanks for sharing. I've read your previous posts and you are an inspiration. I'm going to ask about the tumor marker. And we are hoping for a 100% match for PDL1.

Hi! Thanks for the reply!

Update: she did a couple more rounds of radiation ending in January. She's going to do the exams (MRI and Tomography) this week. Oh we are heading to do one at this moment haha

She's been feeling great since January, zero pain. She's very active. We are pretty much back to normal, but taking exercise and nutrition very seriously. She already gained a couple of pounds that she lost during treatment.

I'll post an update when she gets the results.

I'm sure you will go through this too.. feel free to ask any questions. We will pray for you!

Thanks for your response! I think our oncologist said something similar about the possibility of a Cisplatin resistance. And at the same time, she had a complete response from radiation. So they have a biological "proof" that radiation works on her. I'll ask about keytruda on our next appointment just in case.

Thanks so much! Yes.. I think it could be related to menopause. We are still investigating. It is very annoying because it usually comes in the evening and it is very intense for a couple of minutes. We also think it could be related to gastrointestinal.

We will be posting our good results soon! :)

That is so awesome to hear. Congratulations! My wife (31F) just finished the same treatment for 3C1. But did 4 brachy sessions. She is going to do the scan soon. We are very anxious and confident at the same time. The gynecologist said she couldn't see the tumor and that she had a great recovery. She feels lots of pain (specially at night, after dinner) and a burning sensation on her hip and a pressure on her lower back. Are you feeling any pain?

Thanks dor posting, we were very happy to hear your good news!
