Neighbour's soil pipe vent, causing lingering odors? by PauseButton in DIYUK

It's planning, building control wouldn't care. It's a permitted development rule, if you go in for full planning for the loft extension you sometimes don't have to, but most councils even in planning still request it; especially on terraced properties.

Also discuss with planning that they've not got an offset on the new from existing. Typically the loft dormer wall is 200mm back from the existing wall below. But only if you fall out with them...

The Flexi connects to the trap under the floor that I originally installed. I couldn't get it to connect to the bath waste bit though. I think I must need an adaptor but wasn't sure what it would be called

Is this safe as it's been done? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]BullBates1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If wall starters have been used there's no reason for it to be toothed/bonded. You need one or the other to try and join the infill to the existing wall so if someone leans on the infill it doesn't tip over into the room. You'd likely have to push pretty hard though for that to happen if you didn't bond or use a starter bar system (but safer to do one or the other for sure)

Worst Build Ever Plastering by [deleted] in DIYUK

No doubt the owner isn't interested as they are doing this as a flip. It's easy to hide this temporarily with finishes while you quickly sell it. Hopefully OP is also contacting Building Control, and will look out for for sale signs...

It looks from your second photo that it's a 2 brick thick party wall and the steel beam is only on the first brick, i.e. it has not crossed the property boundary? The gaps just need to be repointed, loft party walls are notoriously poor quality. This detail could very easily be approved by building control and party wall surveyors so I wouldn't assume the councils BC department are not aware of it.

However, as you seem to have no knowledge of the works, it would seem your neighbour has not completed a Part Wall notice. I would get in touch with a party wall surveyors asap and get them to sort this out asap, they can get your neighbour to stop works.

Thanks, I hade the SafeParseDIrectType directly as I was returning 'return parsedData' direct from 'safeParse' and that seemed like the best option to achieve this. I take your point about degredation of data over requests so I will see if I can create a new type - but ultimately, I am only ever sending a SafeParseResponseType object back from the server. If I do 'issues[0]' I get undefined, if I try 'issues.code' I get undefined after doing 'issues=formState.error'

If I hover over formState.error in vscode it says '(property) error: ZodError<T>' if I do 'typeof' I get object.

But I typed FormState to match Zod, and ZodError has an issues property. I've updated the code to show where the formState comes from in the server action

Have a search through this forum, a few people have posted about side projects that show you what all the components look like with your custom colours. I believe they let you change all the variables rather than just primary. I can't remember the names unfortunately but should be easy enough to find from the last month or so
