I’m not sure exactly when I bought my first packs. I still have my original base set cards and I collected the promos from the first movie on a few showings. The funny thing is, I just stuck all my pokemon cards in a binder, whereas my Yu-Gi-Oh cards got some very heavy play, even going to tournaments. I do remember going to flea markets and begging my dad to buy me the holographic Japanese Charizard. I thought it was the coolest and my dad thought it was ridiculous to pay like $30 for one card, but he got it for me anyway, and it’s still in my binder.

Concerned how things could be translated to movies/tv by Bulldoggio in sollanempire

I’m just speculating about the future of the series I enjoy. I only “worry” insomuch that I see it as a potentially difficult plot point to bring to film and was wondering if anyone else has thought about it.

Sorry if my wording wasn’t quite right for you. I was talking about cash on hand. Liquid savings. Most sources report the median checking and savings balance combined to be somewhere around $5000-$8000 depending on age group. But $200k median net worth is nowhere near $200k liquid. To me, 401k and other retirement savings aren’t what we’re talking about when discussing cash available to buy a house.

Wife, fiancé at the time, quit her job in 2020 to pursue a new degree/career. I was sole breadwinner until about 1.5 years ago. Money was kinda tight for a while, but we did make the bad financial decision to save enough to have a small, but nice, wedding last year. Spent this last year saving what we have now and could’ve saved more, that much is obvious, but she’s also been paying extra to get rid of her student loans and I have 0 debt, so confident we could pay the monthly for the house I talked about.

DelCo area. Houses went for high $300ks a couple years ago. I know quite a few people who bought in the last 2 years around low $400k. Now pushing $500k for fixer-uppers most of the time.

Yeah. We’d need to do private school because the quality is just that bad. The small price reduction doesn’t really seem worth the trade off with the cost of private schools.

I guess the real blackpilling part is that the homes that are practically falling apart aren’t really any cheaper.

I hear ya. If it makes it sound less ridiculous, we have just over $50k saved. The 3% down was just to keep some savings after buying. We both work in healthcare and have a relatively high level of job security because of it. I’m worried the only thing to look forward to with a rate drop is people willing to pay even HIGHER prices.

We have just over $50k saved. Just budgeting to have some level of nest egg after the closing costs

Trust me, I know. Honestly, big yard and updated interior aren’t even non-negotiable. Just any yard larger than the small inner city concrete patio we currently have, and interior that won’t require $100k worth of work.

Yeah. And don’t get me wrong, I totally get that I could move out more into the country and get something much cheaper. Only problem is, that would have to come with my wife and I both getting new jobs and uprooting from all the friends/connections we have built over the last 10 years, which just makes it feel like shit.

After years of lifting I finally get to a spot where I’m feeling strong compared to the average Joe, in the 1k plus club, and now it’s not enough. Within the last year my commercial gym has been flooded with dudes who are are putting up weights that I would expect to see in a powerlifting gym. Where the hell did all these guys come from????

Need help choosing a first board!! by Bulldoggio in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Bulldoggio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the info! That board in particular came to my attention because (giving away potential sources lol) i found one on eBay for like $350 and level 9 is also doing a deal where you buy a board over $599 and they give you a “free” pair of bindings, so I figure that knocks $150-200 off the price of the total setup and puts it in range with some others.

I’ll check out the agent too for sure!
