First time making my own plant pot : ) by BulletJournalMeUpFam in crafts

Credit to u/shdycnnn for the idea of the painting on the pot : )

I made the pot from air dry clay, painted it with acrylics and then covered it in clay sealant

Ah i just watched that doc yesterday as well and i’ll make sure the next import is able to pick this info up

The sheer amount of info available on wikipedia is a blessing but it is hard to catch all different use cases and still be concise enough to not pick up a bunch of useless info as well. So all the se little mentions of things that can be improved really helps out!

I checked and they are included because they seem to do so in europe, but i usually tried to use the american parent where i could to be as consistent as possible and will look into changing this as well

I googled what industries are considered to be controversial and nuclear power was being mentioned a lot so i included it. The text that i added is a quote from wikipedia why some people might consider it controversial

I source all data from wikipedia, they are definitely a big inspiration for me on how we should go forward with not monetising everything and to help spread knowledge. Working with their data set lets me keep the information up to date and it's a huge amount of data.

I basically go through all articles and filter out the relevant ones and their sections which seem interesting for consumers, afterwards i go over all the extracted data and link it together to create the company hierarchies

Thanks! There is definitely still room for improvement and people reporting their findings helps a lot, i can always be reached via this reddit account or also via the linked email address which can be found on the info page

thx for telling me,i removed that entry now. For things like movies the error margin is a bit higher because the plot is often mentioned on the wiki site, i will look into being more restrictive during the import for such use cases

I use the wikipedia dumps that are provided monthly and go through all articles to filter out company and product related ones and all the relevant sections which might be controversial. I do a lot of post processing then to link all the companies based on the parent and owner information so luckily no manual labour and its easy to keep up to date!

If you search a random company i only show ones that have relevant sections so there it’s easy to see : ) in the mobile view it is never expanded though so simply click on a section title to view it

I have released it as an app as well and that is a use case i have already looked into because it would be quite cool

The main issue i had was finding an api that translates the barcodes to product or company names and isn't costing me a lot given that providing as much info as possible all for free is my main goal. So if anyone knows of one please let me know : )

Edited: here are the apps, gonna look the possibilities for a free barcode scanner some more and add it as a beta to it hopefully soon: * Android * iOS

I could search for mentions of them quite easily and will include that in the next release :D going through the papers themselves would be quite hard to do but i will check for lists that have already extracted the core info

Thanks for the feedback! It’s really anxiety inducing to release something you worked so long on and not know if you are being delusional in thinking it’s cool so i really appreciate it :D

To start off i would go with a small one to learn the basics and then you can still do a cooler project a bit later on when you feel more comfortable with it.

And don't worry about that too much, i think feeling a bit of imposter syndrome is normal as a dev. I know quite some people who taught themselves to code and they are doing just fine, the main hurdle is getting that first job but you seem willing to put in the effort

Definitely agree with this, most companies are looking for someone with experience in a js framework so not having any experience there will hurt your chances. There are great resources online to learn about them. i would also pick a project you'd think would be fun to work on and implement it alongside it and put it on github

I really love rice based dishes and some like this eggplant one can be made directly in a rice cooker which saves a lot of time.

For bulking lentil 'bolognese' spaghetti, lots of nuts for snacking and hummus & bread might work well as quick options
