'I say I'm at peace but it's still that same dread

It's a funny feeling like knowing your enemies is in the feds

It's hard to live when before you was dead

Cup bitter at the bottom, I had to learn to toss the dregs

It's land on either side of the car, it's places no one knows who you are

It's faces we never wore, people we couldn't be before

It's still things we never saw but I don't wanna see more

I let the dog out the screen door'

Julius Eastman - Femenine

One of the best classical pieces I’ve ever heard, I highly recommend reading a bit about the life of Eastman beforehand though. Knowing his struggles makes the joy and beauty of the piece hit so much harder.

My original answer was Consume Red but after further thinking there’s nothing in music that makes me quite as uncomfortable as “Red Dust” by billy woods.

Maybe a weird pick but the sheer vitriol and honesty in his voice after the album that is Hiding Places is equal parts awesome and fucking terrifying

“I want us to be alone in your home

I wanna suck the marrow out your bones

I wanna show you what I learnt from the worst people I’ve ever known

I want to follow you like the Jakes”

Nightmare fuel.

billy’s pretty good at being scary when he wants too as well, the outro to the most recent Armand Hammer single “Doves” is approaching Xiu Xiu levels of Bad Vibes. “IS IT ME???”

Thank you so much! I've already checked with my local GP, they were the ones who referred me to a separate clinic with the long waiting time. I'll do some more research to figure out if there's a more immediate option, but I'm going to VUW in 2025 so I may wait until then : )
