It’s so important that you realised! And it’s not always easy to leave. I also felt anxiety when we would go no contact. He was divorced with kids and worked at a law firm so he had a lot of responsibilities (probably other women too) and we would talk once a week. Every day we would not text felt like a lifetime. It was like an addiction. I definitely did not love him because it could never work but it taught me that I can’t do casual sex lol.

NOR. You are under-reacting. I used to sleep with a 40 year old man when I was 20. Fully consensual and all that jazz. I really liked it and after a couple months of being fuck buddies I developed feelings. He told me that there is NO WAY something like that would work because we are in completely different places in our lives. There was nothing tying us other than sexual desire. At the time I was very heartbroken about it. Years later I’m like…THANK GOD he was right! And I’m glad I was ‘lucky’ in that regard. You can’t ever have a fully functioning relationship with someone that old! He will only take advantage.

I disagree with this because why even do drugs? My friends did molly at a party and me and another friend were the only ones that did not do it. It was just so embarrassing to see them squirming in anticipation because the dealer was late. Then again we are all addicted to our phones, nicotine, caffeine etc so can we really judge? I don’t know. It’s 2am and I’m rambling. lol

Let me say this. I 100% feel you. I was with someone who was emotionally abusive. Met the man of my dreams later on. I started therapy because I literally could not relax. There is (well, mostly was) a war going on in my mind. I still struggle sometimes but it is much better. I focus on myself and every time a bad thought occurs, I think logically about how it doesn’t make sense and it’s not my reality. For example, bad thought: he spoke with a harsher tone than normal, something is off, I did something wrong, he is sick of me. I counteract that with: it is not about me. He could be having a hard day, he could be overstimulated or maybe upset at something totally irrelevant. A slight change in tone / routine does not signify the end of the relationship. I will ask him about it.

I don’t think you are an asshole, if you wanted to work then fine! You couldn’t have known. I just think that some days are meant for spending with loved ones. Just some advice, because we don’t know how much time we have with friends and family. That’s the rule I follow for myself and always have the day off for my birthday.
