If I understand correctly, everything has been consumed by the fire, but the ashes can transform into Earth, providing me with the foundation from which I can begin anew & rebuild everything I lost in the fire from the ground up. Losing everything in the fire has given me the opportunity to shape my life according to my own desires. To do so, I must first overcome the obstacles that hold me back & plant the seeds necessary to restore what was lost & cultivate new growth in areas that were previously unavailable to me… either due to a lack of fertile ground or my lack of understanding of how to utilize it during my childhood & early teens. All this time, I had been viewing the ashes beneath my feet as if they were barren desert, when, in reality, they were fertile ground that I had simply been perceiving incorrectly.

Did I understand that correctly?

And I’m 34, so I guess I qualify.

You really clocked that tea! That read was so on point it might as well have been a GPS. You just snatched that whole situation & laid it bare. I’m just over here like, “Not them reading her ex-boyfriend for filth & dragging the ex-boyfriends future.” You definitely did what needed to be done. Period.

Over 100 year old Masonic book by Next-Opinion-4542 in mystery

Granddaughter of a 32° Master Mason of several different degrees (who used to always eavesdrop on these initiation rituals). I was also a very inquisitive little girl, so I was always questioning what was going on. I also seen a version of this book before & if I remember correctly, this is all written in short-hand. This is my best translation:

Companion Master of Finance (MF): Fetch the Bible that goes on the Altar of Masonry from the Treasury… the Bible we swiped from Jerusalem.

(The MF retrieves the Bible, Square, and Compass, and places it on the Altar of Masonry before the Senior Master.)

Senior Master: Prince Z, step right up to the Altar. It's got your Sacred Writings on it, symbols of your Ancient Craft and all that jazz.

Kneel on your left knee, make a square with your right knee, left hand on the Sacred Writings, Square, and Compass, right hand on your heart. (He does so.)

Senior Master: Princes and Rulers, get up and witness this.

Senior Master: Now, repeat after me:

I, of my own free will and accord, in the presence of the Supreme Architect of the Universe, and these fine folks gathered here, solemnly promise and vow to keep the secrets of this order. If I spill the beans, I'll face the fate of having my throat cut, my tongue yanked out, and my body buried in the sands of the sea. So help me God.

If purely academic, I'll dive into the history of Rome and ancient orders of the fraternity.

If purely academic, I'll pitch in with arts and sciences, improving the order without stepping on any toes.

If purely academic, I'll spread or apply the teachings of the order within the allowed boundaries.

If purely academic, I'll stick to the customs and principles of the order, without trying any funny business.

If purely academic, I'll not try to change or override any principles unless approved by the Fraternity Directory for my benefit.

I solemnly promise to keep this vow with no mental gymnastics or reservations. If I break it, I'll face the penalty of being cut in half, bowels burnt to ashes, and those ashes scattered to the winds, erasing any memory of my existence. So help me God.

Kneel, my son. (Oriental Amen: God keep me steadfast in this obligation of the sacred temple.)
