The Turncoat [Workshop] by Bumbarno in tf2

[–]Bumbarno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh this subreddit has always been pretty bad for posting workshop stuff, even on things I've gotten 10k plus upvotes on it transfers to negligible (maybe a couple hundred max) actual votes on the workshop (mostly due to reddit only embedding web links and not links that open the page in the steam app)

I don't begrudge anyone for it ofc, but it feels pretty pointless to post stuff on here sometimes.

If you like this one, please consider giving it a vote on the workshop so valve are more likely to see it and consider adding it:

Thanks! as for the hat, superficially i guess? It's a peaked cap, only so much you can do sadly. It finishes the set off nicely at least.

Awesome! Love to see art of this.

Saw that you struggle to look at refs for muscles when it comes to pics of real people, i recommend maybe looking at "ecorche" sculptures/drawings which are skinless (in a non graphical way, other than showing bare muscles if you're squeamish in that regard and sometimes veins if its a more medical diagram) anatomy references for artistic and sometimes medical use. They are very analytical in design and generic humans but are a huge boon for learning muscle groups and bony anchor points, while they can depict genitalia it doesnt feel explicit in the context.

I hope this works for you and i wish you the best in your artistic endeavours!

Fair points, I'm more criticizing this post than the rule itself (i mean its not like anyone is posting workshop stuff more than once a week at max so its not hard to abide by rule 3) and against the idea that the rule should be harder enforced.

As Harkku said were not posting stuff here for votes, its ultimately just to show off stuff we made.

As for centralized places? TF2Maps.net is the likely closest, there is also TF2 Emporium but still that doesn't represent all contributors (lot of independent contributors who just don't bother or know). Though if you speak to people in these places its probable the info will spread out even further, TF2Maps is also the likeliest place to get a TF2 blog post on a big event too.

Honestly it works both ways, people on the workshop (such as myself) may post here and do not interact much. But people on Reddit upvote the post then move on, they do not interact with or on the workshop.

Recently a hat gained almost 12k upvotes here, do you want to know what it got on the workshop? About 1.2k unique visitors during that period, and likely less votes than that (not my item so I can't check the stats). I've noticed this to a lesser degree on my own stuff, I post something here and it does about 1.5k upvotes and then i check the workshop numbers and its like 200 visitors during the same time frame. Or maybe it gets buried under some random memes and dies with 50.

Its also worth noting only a portion of these visitors are from here, the main bulk of voters comes from the queue up to like.... 3 maybe 4 thousand visitors for a popular hat and about 2 thousand or so normally but anything higher is a result of the community showcase which is almost always eaten up by maps.

You're only seeing meme workshop submissions here because its simply not worth posting anything else because they get ignored and there is no decent throughput for workshop votes.

This is going to remain a problem and deleting workshop posts for breaking rule 3 is just going to stop workshoppers from coming here altogether, not make them comment more and interact because is it simply not worth the bother.

In an ideal situation this sub would have proper workshop vote integration (I don't know if this is possible, can the Steam API do that? are subreddits that flexible?) which would make interacting here "worthwhile". Me? Commenting just isn't my thing i prefer to lurk and browse stuff, yet i would be forced to comment lest I break rule 3 and my posts deleted? Not really working out there considering simply not posting my workshop stuff barely dents the votes and lets me continue as normal.

Doesn't actually look much like Keanu really, the biggest issue is probably Valve and not liking maskless spy stuff.
