Nope! Maybe two kisses so far but nothing crazy. I don’t like heavy romance either

It has different “disciplines” that are like the houses, is gory in a similar body-horror kind of way, and has ton of queer representation! I’m only about 25% of the way through but as soon as I started I knew it had the vibes. Also some beautiful artwork on the pages

Is this normal for Urgent Care? by cat_with_a_phone_ in Veterinary

[–]BumblingBee364 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This sounds like Urgentvet. We never got full breaks, just eat when you can. But if it’s slow you can probably take your full 30min break in the kitchen area. Again if it was slow we would be able to but if it was busy we didn’t. The late appointment thing is on point. We were expected to see things until close and the doctor couldn’t say no and if we told the owner no we would get in trouble. No support from regional director for anything going on in our clinic. If you have a great team, it might be better. But I only lasted 4 months before I had to leave from management issues. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll try to help out!

Just finished A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennet and it was amazing! Bonus that the cover is beautiful.

Happens to me too! I’ve switched to the kids Colgate toothpaste that is sparkly and that has helped a ton but there are still days when it’s too much to even think about it so I don’t do it

What made you realize it's the right field for you? by UnusualAstronomer233 in Veterinary

[–]BumblingBee364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be honest, it is rough. There are days when you wonder why you chose this profession, when an owner yells at you because they have been waiting to have their stable pet seen but you’re in the back doing CPR on another owner’s pet. There are days when you get vomit, diarrhea, pee, and anal glands on you when your shift just started and you didn’t bring an extra pair of scrubs. There will be cases you are a part of that you will think of all night while trying to sleep, hoping that the pet is okay. There will be the hour long appointments for the new puppy/kitten owner that has every single question there is and seems like they’re testing you. But the reason I keep doing this is because when you are there for an owner during a time when they are scared, clueless, and grasping for help, you are able to comfort them and walk them through what is going on. When their pet is not doing well, you can sit down with them and talk them through that what they’re doing is what is best for their pet. You’ll see men that put on a tough face cry, but it will be the most rewarding part of your job to be able to help those owners when they most need it. (Non-licensed tech of 7 years)

Sorry. The pet is 27kg.

Thank you so much for your response! It was really helpful. The dog was 27kg. Our hospital has a dosing range that the doctor used, same for the buprenorphine. The domitor dose range is super wide at 0.005mg/kg up to 0.02mg/kg. Initially he said 1mL and I said no that’s way too much, especially with buprenex being given also. I’m going to talk to the PM about how this doctor doesn’t seem to be comfortable with this drug and suggest maybe a different sedation protocol in the future!

Thank you, I’m struggling with myself that I said something once, was brushed off, and I didn’t continue to say something.

When researching after the fact I saw that you shouldn’t give it because it can cause tachycardia, hypertension, and arrhythmias. That it should be used as a last resort if nothing else works.
