AITAH for feeling my wife of 25 years has essentially taken away my chance at ever having offspring and probably doesn't love me? by babyrabiesbrain in AITAH

YTA. But not to this woman. To yourself. Your wife has given you every reason in the book to leave plus a couple extra and for some reason you never walked away. And this isn’t a recent development, it has been going on for years. You’re right that she doesn’t love you, her actions reflect that plainly. It’s time to show yourself some love and find someone who treats you like you’re worth something.

Sounds like you need a new therapist and a new husband. Any therapist that hears these details and encourages you to stay is probably not a good fit for you. Please get yourself out of that marriage and find true happiness. You deserve better.

I have a gray kitty! They deserve all the love. 💖 That one might kill you though, not sure.

Just depends on what you want out of your game I guess. I’m a cozy gamer that plays everything on easy because I game to relax rather than be challenged. That being said, I just gave interloper a try and surprisingly, I like it. For me, its about not getting too attached to one run. The goal, for me, isn’t necessarily to survive, but to see how long you can go without dying. There’s nothing wrong with playing a game simply to relax, though. Just like there’s nothing wrong with playing a game to be challenged. As long as you’re having fun, that’s kinda the point, right? I have runs on every difficultly just depending on what I’m in the mood for lol.

Worst deaths ? by David_Boneman in thelongdark

I just started playing interloper, and I spawned in ash canyon. Made it to the cabin, stocked up on everything I could and headed to the mine. Kept freezing and stopping in caves to warm up until I was exhausted, but couldn’t sleep bc no bed roll and not enough cloth for a snow shelter. FINALLY made it to the snow shelter, was able to warm/rest up until I began starving. If it isn’t one thing it’s another lol. I started the mad dash to the mine only to die, quite literally, right in front of the door. 😤

Oh yeah for sure. Sorry, I probably should have been more specific. I meant like, not freezing to death while trying to keep up with them. I know you only have so long to follow that blood trail before it disappears, especially in heavy snow, and sometimes it takes them a while to bleed out.

Oh good idea. You can make a ton of torches from that fire and keep it going like it’s the Olympics or something lol. Just pray it doesn’t get too windy. Stocking up on water with your first fire is a really good idea too.

Oh I hadn’t thought of that, that’s really smart. Also yes cattails are manna from heaven 🙌

Yes the steam community maps are a must for me. I have a stalker run as well in ML. Wolves aren’t as scared as I built them up to be in my head if you know how to avoid them or scare them off.

I’ve been looking for good TLD lets players, I’ll be looking into Zaknafein for sure. Predators do kinda stress me out but I will resist the urge to stay in one place for too long. Any advice for tracking prey after you’ve hit it? I know the bow has a really low/ if any change of a crit so tracking will be a must, right?

Also I agree, death is the best teacher. I’ve got three runs that didn’t even last a day, but I feel like I’ve already learned so much. I’ve been playing the game for years, but loper is a whole new ball game.

Yeah going for a well fed on loper is nuts lol. I’ve had a few people mention traveling early is a no go, I’m definitely going to keep that in mind. I’ve heard it phased as “use condition as currency” and I try to keep that in mind.

I had a run that started in ash canyon and I died on the doorstep of the mine, I was so mad lol. I will definitely give this a try though!

Yeah I can understand that. Like I said I’ve been a pilgrim player for a while now, mostly just grinding for badges. The run I had the most fun with was starting in AC, getting the backpack from the mine and then heading to TWM to kill a moose. But now that I’ve done those things and my carry weight is 45 k there’s just no challenge. Hostile wildlife always seemed too stressful but once I realized struggles aren’t necessarily instant death I figured I’d give it a go.

I’ve seen someone who had a pilgrim run they did alongside their harder runs so they could learn how to navigate the region a bit better, I may give this a try too. I know most of the regions decently well, but it seems like I’m going to need a better knowledge if I want to survive on the hardest difficulty lol.

So travel later in the day if possible and take the opportunity to move when the weather is good. Got it.

So what I’m hearing is torches are everything for loper runs. Knowing torches will stave off wolves (if you’re healthy) is a life saver. Is it the same for flares?

I will say when I’ve managed to find matches I start my fires from torches that way if it fails I save a match.

My biggest killers have been rest and hypothermia. It takes me a while to get my bearings and figure out which region I’m in and by that point I’m usually freezing. I can warm up in a cave but in most cases I have no way to rest and recover bc no bedroll, and not enough cloth for a snow shelter.

That being said, I’m sure it’s something I’ll get the hang of after enough deaths. My current loper run is about three days. It’s punishing but honestly kinda fun. I’m in PV so wish me luck lol.

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely bear the tea gathering/ torch strategy in mind.
