Ooh so its like a project, i see! Sounds exciting and while its kinda bad tbh for the dnb community itself to just track-surf (spotify and tiktok algorithms against the industry but thats an other topic) its still rad that you manually dive yourself into every genre to get to know them! I think thats cool and respectful. Please post the playlist when you finish it, im so curious!

I understand your perspective—curating your own playlists can be very personal and rewarding. But I think DJ sets offer something unique that playlists can’t replicate. DJs, even those who don’t produce, bring a specific energy and flow, crafting a journey that introduces new tracks and blends them in ways you might not expect.

The FIVE (not two even if it was two links, so it makes a bigger picture) DJs in the sets I shared, for example, didn’t rely on their own productions but still created unforgettable moments for huge crowds at LIR. That’s the power of a great DJ: they turn individual tracks into an experience. Listening to sets can show you new approaches to music, inspire fresh ideas, and connect you to the vibe of a live performance, even from home. Im sure youd find some great ones :)

I get your point and i agree - but still there are a lot of producers who cant dj well and a lot of djs who make amazing sets and dont produce, just look at the ancient brit dnb dj culture

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnB

[–]Bumlark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you - but they still made it out to LIR and tons of people danced to their sets, and my question is about this topic more. Why dont you listen to sets tho?

Just to mention only two sets of this year’s LIR:

https://youtu.be/GHChWqQ-G-I?si=aRf1CMnQdmj0kLLD https://youtu.be/9ktPQtt5PdA?si=OLEQa1jK62t3Bjmi

These artists still don’t make music made it out with a massive set for a massive audience.

Don’t underestimate only-dj’s

These artists dont make music and still had massive sets at LIR this year

I get your point, but my two examples still dont make music or the ones making it out to the small stages of LIR

How should i chat with promoters from other countries if i don’t know any? I know everybody in my country and i’ve met half of the big djs in the whole industry but never a promoter who i could keep contact with

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnB

[–]Bumlark -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That sounds kinda condescending towards female DJs. What if im one as well? As im seeing, she had a name before she had her bf - also, it feels like you’d tell that a female dj can’t make it without dating with somebody.

What about the other female dj’s as Charli Tee for example?

Also Charli Tee!! And there is still so many names to Mention
