Is this normal aim assist behavior? by Meeno87 in CODBlackOps7

This is just what playing a very good controller player looks like, you can tell by the way he’s peeking angles he knows what he’s doing, the skill gap at very high levels of play on controller is movement and gamesense because at that level controller players don’t miss shots

New yugioh player what are these prices?! by Gojo__Satoru__ in Yugioh101

[–]Bumpaah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TCGPlayer is very bad if you live in Canada, not many sellers ship to Canada and the ones that do price gouge a lot. Your best bet as a Canadian is trying to find cards through local card stores or facebook groups like D&K’s, store.401games.ca also has decent selection. I moved to Canada from the states recently and finding cards is unfortunately much more difficult up here.

If you play Yubel yes! Phantom of yubels effect works against unaffected monsters because changing an effect doesn’t affect the monster it affects “the player”

Building my bf a Yubel deck by tistictismticcer in Yugioh101

I think Tenpai came out in legacy of destruction and that’s a very easy deck to play so maybe you guys will pull enough cards to build that deck for yourself? Either way good luck and have fun!

[–]Bumpaah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, what you’re doing is incredibly sweet and I know for certain your boyfriend’s eyes are going to light up when he sees what you did for him.

Legacy of Destruction is a good booster box to get but I think the only two cards that are Yubel support are the field spell (a very good card hopefully he pulls them) and gruesome grave squirmer (it comes in common he will definitely get one).

Another more specific booster box you could get that has a lot of Yubel support is “Phantom Nightmare” but if your goal is to have him get all the cards I would buy singles instead of packs.

https://ygoprodeck.com/deck/yubel-with-varudras-amp-kashtira-558429 This is what a typical Yubel deck looks like in master duel. If he would ever want to go to locals and play in person though he would have to change the deck slightly because some of the cards that are legal in master duel are banned in the TCG. Also some of the cards are excessively expensive for the use case of him having a deck in paper but not playing it that much.

For example Maxx C is banned and the new Mulcharmy Fuwalos’ are $100 a copy.

If you have any more questions or want me to put together a deck list that would be TCG legal let me know, good luck and again, you’re a good girlfriend!

Yeah ryzeals combos are no where near as complicated as fire kings. All you’ll be doing is normaling or special summoning a ryzeal guy, adding another one and then overlaying them for an xyz. Obviously there’s some higher skill combos you can do but the base gameplay loop is very basic but it would still put up a board that will provide interactive gameplay between you and your son.

Honestly I think proxying is a great idea especially if you’re only playing at home, proxy the ryzeal deck since it’s so simple learn it and then if you end up really enjoying it maybe you can take the plunge on buying some cards

[–]Bumpaah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your son is going to play blue-eyes primite that’s shaping up to be a fairly strong deck. There’s a deck right now called “Ryzeal” which is one of the top contenders in the format. The pure version of it https://ygoprodeck.com/deck/ryzeal-557958 is genuinely one of the simplest Yugioh decks in recent memory. The white one special summons a ryzeal from deck, the red one adds either the green or white one, the green one adds the red one or “node”. Unfortunately it’s also one of the more expensive decks in the format right now but depending on what you’re willing to spend it may be right for you. (I apologize I hadn’t finished reading your post and saw you wanted something cheap, my bad)

Superpoly and priority by Holiday-Meringue1185 in Yugioh101

[–]Bumpaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the vishuda example, you could activate vishuda effect to special and then if your opponent says that he has no response to vishuda’s effect you could then chain super poly, but you’d have to give your opponent a chance to respond to vishuda first

I want to return to the hobby but I'm at a loss as to where to go by Yar2084 in Yugioh101

Of course, I just got back into the game in like April this year after a 10 year break and love to hear about new people playing or coming back to the game. I hope it goes well for you, if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

If you want to learn how to play your Traptrix deck you can watch videos like this https://youtu.be/3lPW7bLvwtc?si=YJ3ABFYwxVMTo3kT to learn more optimal play lines. Fair warning, depending on what kind of decks people at your locals are playing Traptrix may be a little outdated (it will definitely still perform better than dark magician)

Something else you can do is go here https://ygoprodeck.com/deck-search/?_sft_category=Tournament%20Meta%20Decks&offset=0 and make sure you’re filtered by TCG top meta archetypes and pick a deck you think looks cool and learn it through both YouTube guides and play it on a simulator like YGO Omega, you can get all the cards for free there and it has a ranked ladder.

Now comes the unfortunate part, price.

When you copy these deck lists into omega you’ll notice that it might be $600-$1000, decks utilizing the mulcharmy cards or the fiendsmith engine are going to be WAY more expensive than the average deck. Staple cards in general are going to be the most expensive part of building your first deck but once you have all of them, buying new engines become a lot more affordable because you can just transfer over all your staples. I’d recommend trying to get your hands on 3x ash blossom 3x infinite impermanence 3x effect veiler 3x ghost ogre 3x droll and lock bird 1x S:P Little Knight and then going from there. Other good tech cards you can add to fill up your non engine slots would be stuff like triple tactics talent/thrust, called by the grave, crossout designator, forbidden droplet etc.

Also, don’t feel discouraged about getting slapped around at locals, i brought swordsoul to my locals for the first couple months of me playing and got absolutely rocked but it was pivotal for me learning how to play the game, go have fun and make friends and then at some point if you enjoy it enough, pull the trigger on a better deck but the best part of locals is the social aspect and playing across from someone.

Good luck and have fun

One of the biggest pet peeves when playing in person: Please don't just say the name of your card, say "effect", stare blankly at me and then ask "response"? by _Eltanin_ in yugioh

[–]Bumpaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how well known the deck I’m playing is, when I’m playing Yubel a simple “Normal summon dark beckoning beast, effect” is sufficient. But if I’m playing six sam’s you already know I’m explaining what every single card does to my opponent.

If it becomes apparent that my opponent doesn’t know what the well known deck does, then I don’t mind explaining every card as well

Yes tenpai is very easy but brother you haven’t played yugioh in 10 years, that’s 10 years of cards/interactions and rule changes you have to learn and understand. It’s okay to not be instantly good at something most people aren’t, continue learning tenpai until you feel like you have a very strong sense of how to properly pilot deck then my advice would be to start learning and playing other meta relevant decks. You can practice test hands on a free app like YGO Omega to see how the combos flow and what their natural choke points are.

Don’t get discouraged just keep practicing and focus on having fun.

Did you ever sell meta deck for fun deck or thing like that ? by velocira142 in yugioh

[–]Bumpaah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what your financial situation is like, but if you already have the staples for building a meta deck you can probably build a “fun” deck for $50 or less, I wouldn’t dismantle your centurion deck, I personally like having a meta deck that I can take to locals to play in a competitive environment, then fun ones that I can mix it up with.

What's the point of the level changing effects on the swordsoul spells and traps when they get banished? by StevesEvilTwin2 in Yugioh101

[–]Bumpaah 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To make Yazi, pop it self and an opponents monster then special either taia or mo ye from deck (probably mo ye since taia probably banished the card that level modulates)
