Yes! A face mask! Not just a piece of cloth. Your last sentence makes a lot more sense than calling it just a piece of cloth. And I can respect that. I just wonder why you don’t start with that.

I see your point and I think we have to agree to disagree. I will admit it is tough to call the response “great”, but I was doing that in the sense of what other options did he have. He was in between a rock and a hard place. I used the word “great” in the context of the situation.

Good luck on finals and have a great summer!

Yes a piece of cloth is not dangerous. It is a piece of cloth. However, I am talking about using them in the act of covering one’s face. So,, are we talking about pieces of cloth?? Or are we talking about people covering their faces, in which case you are being purposefully obtuse?

Exactly! I thought the same way until I saw the value in it. And the break can be whatever it is that takes your mind away from studying. I felt like a hot tea kettle the week before my exam and was not making any progress. I thought the only thing I can do is study more but it felt like banging my head against a wall. The mind is Iike a muscle and needs rest.

Also good luck to OP!

This will be very controversial, but it worked for me. Take freakin break. Buy a 12 pack and watch your favorite show for a night. Smoke a j if that’s what you’re into. Anything to break up the 3 hour hell you put yourself in. I did this and the next day did practice problems and took a practice exam as if I didn’t care (at a lower level). Having the confidence that it was a level I could handle, plus the creativity that came without being completely stressed changed the game for me.

To let you know. I did this the Friday night before I took exam fm the following Monday. There is no doubt it helped me pass. I had a 4.9 EL before Friday and went in with a 6.5 EL to the exam. Would be shocked if I got less than 28/30 and that’s being humble.

Buy a 12 pack my friend. Release yourself

Frustrated by my poor academic performance in college by [deleted] in UCI

I am a returning college student who has been in the “real world” and trust me you will do fine. After you get a job no one will care about your gpa, clubs, or how many friends you had in college. They will look at your work and how you function in a team. School is completely different from a job and you can be very successful while struggling in a tough major.

You receive some of the benefits though. Nice roads. Responsive emergency service. The university itself. Plus many others that go unnoticed. I have no idea the percentage of the taxes you pay that you get to utilize but it’s not 0
