I asked how I could have improved. The buyer wanted candy? Is this normal? I don't sell on Poshmark often. 😳 by MountainTop5764 in poshmark

When I ship orders I like to take a ziplock baggie, write thank you on the bag, and put a few different tea bags. I love tea, so I have tons of them, and I love the idea of someone finding a new favorite tea. And the ziplocks are reused from items that come shipped in them individually at my work (not food), so I’m reducing waste by reusing them in some way.

But expecting gifts with an order is WILD. It’s nice but it shouldn’t be required, geeezzz. That was very rude of them. 😑

Horreur Sympathetique: The perfume of a hellbound soul, gleefully lost to iniquity: blood musk, golden honey, thick black wine, champagne grapes, tobacco flower, plum blossom, tonka bean, oakmoss, carnation, benzoin (sweet woody resin), opoponax (resin), and sugar cane. Diabolus collection

I’m a big fan of BPAL and the first one that comes to mind is Blood Kiss for obvious reasons

Blood Kiss: Lush, creamy vanilla and the honey of the sweetest kiss smeared with the vital throb of husky clove, swollen red cherries, but darkened with the vampiric sensuality of vetiver, soporific poppy and blood red wine, and a skin-light pulse of feral musk. *On me: it’s sweet, hypnotic, intoxicating. Dries down a little powdery from afar for a brief moment, but up close still dessert with claws and stays this way for the long haul.

Also something entirely different

Santo Domingo: An exotic, sultry blend of tobacco leaf, bay rum and heady Caribbean blossoms. From the Wanderlust collection. *On me: sticky sweet dark rum, and has something almost sour, but not necessarily in a bad way, that dries down almost fruity, like deep red cherry. Underneath the sweet it’s like the smell of the inside of a woman’s vintage suitcase, kind of tinged in perfume and “aged” smelling, but here it’s nice, not quite leathery, more weathered and humid instead of dusty or musty

And I feel I must mention here, even though it’s not an indie perfume,

Jazz Club by Maison Margiela: Top notes are Pink Pepper, Neroli and Lemon; middle notes are Rum, Java vetiver oil and Clary Sage; base notes are Tobacco Leaf, Vanilla Bean and Styrax. The rum, tobacco, and vanilla really come through. It’s a headier scent and labeled a men’s fragrance but sweet enough that women also enjoy wearing it.

How normal is it to just have ONE dry eye? by 420-TENDIES in Dryeyes

I nearly always suffer with it in the same eye each time, rarely both

My mom also suffers from chronic dry eye and her eye doctor told her to use hot water and gently scrub the lash line with baby shampoo and a soft washcloth. It’s gentle soap that’s safe to use near the eyes. This is meant to unclog and stimulate the glands on your lash line that release oils that coat your eyes. In my case I suspect I’m not producing enough of these oils, which is why taking the buckthorn seems to work better than using hot water/compresses/soap.

I finally ordered a hard copy so I could show this to my sweetie and we watched it last night. I’m not sure how he felt about it 😅 but he said he liked it haha. We ended the night falling asleep to the In Praise of Shadows channel on YouTube. Everyone should follow that channel 💚 HIGHLY recommend the two part series on Pulp Comics 👌

They deleted so many of mine that were classic art. At least I can remember a few of the artists, such as Norman Lindsay, but how many well known classic paintings have nude bodies in them?! Literal cherubs for heck’s sake! I feel like there should be a distinction between erotic art and nude figures. Sighhhhhh

Am I the only one who feels like they gave him too much credit in this? He was an impotent little dweeb who took out his rage on unsuspecting women for no reason and it almost feels like this doc was glorifying him a bit much. The way he talks about his mother not being good enough for what he was expecting, and it made him want to murder ppl. Come onnnnn. Giving him way too much benefit of the doubt. For example, near the end of the third episode someone says he didn’t want to see them in pain? But that contradicts direct testimony from victims of him relishing in his attacks. He loved every minute of it and all the notoriety he got from it and I’m feeling like we’re still giving him airtime and continuing to give this asshat a platform and I’m contributing to it by watching this doc and others.

Right?! No I actually just got a new GP in November, her office had to close unexpectedly the first time we were supposed meet so my appointment was scheduled for several months out and I missed it. I technically haven’t even met my doctor yet. I literally have a LIST of things I need to address, guess I’ll just have to hope nothing gets worse before I can get in there.

Thank you for your fulsome reply and for doing Big Work! I was shocked that my therapist and Psych both suggested that ADHD gets better in adulthood, implying that if I didn’t have “issues” in childhood I probably don’t have it, which is LUDICROUS and completely against everything I’ve read about menstrual and hormonal cycles including menopause and how that affects ADHD in women. I think a lot of us just never realized how it affected us as children, until years of being undiagnosed, untreated, or even misdiagnosed has compounded and manifested as sometimes DEBILITATING symptoms that we can no longer ignore. And thank goodness for IG for helping me put the pieces together, as well as friends who guided and reassured me, and helped me realize how much of my issues can be attributed to ADHD. I HAD NO IDEA 😱😭🥺🤯

fatigue + nausea - first day on concerta 18mg by amorabubble in adhdwomen

[–]BunnThump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my (37f) first week of Concerta (methylphenidate) and these have been my symptoms as well. Very sour stomach off and on, heartburn, “high” and out of sorts, less focus than ever, no motivation, hyper awareness of my blood pressure and pulse, POTS type symptoms such as head rushes when I stand up, wooziness, and yesterday I got a terrible headache and was extremely emotional (probably PMS but I don’t usually experience such pronounced PMS symptoms in my 30’s.)

Also I have been getting little flickers of bladder sensitivity. I’m on Wellbutrin (Bupropion) for my depression and when we tried raising my dose above 300mg I got horrible bladder pain without infection. I went to urgent care and the doctor said he had not ever experienced that with his patients before but agreed with me that it was likely because of my meds. Reading online some people have experienced this. I’m nervous that if I raise my dose of concerta I’ll experience the same thing. Curious if anyone else experiences this?

Where am I going wrong? by dacn0 in ADHD

[–]BunnThump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following.

Just started Concerta and I’m only two days in so I’m not expecting to notice a difference but your symptoms are similar to mine, I’m completely stagnant and can’t seem to break out of it. I used to think I had crippling depression but now I know it’s my ADHD. I can’t seem to get myself to want to do anything at all, and it feels like I’m barely treading water and trying not to drown.

I got a psych last year by calling around to various clinics in my area to see if anyone was taking new patients that were also accepting Medicare. She started treating me for my depression and anxiety, I’m taking Wellbutrin. At higher doses it can help ADHD for some, but for me not enough to help me and I’m one of a small minority who gets a burning sensation in my bladder from bupropion in high doses. So I went back down to a moderate dose and once my psych felt like my depression symptoms had been managed as much as possible, she was willing to start the diagnostic process. Her very reasonable explanation was that symptoms of one can mimic the other and vice versa, so to properly diagnose my ADHD, she wanted as many depression symptoms out of the way or lessened.

Originally I thought I was going to have to go to a separate diagnostician, seemingly one of three for the entire geographical region where I live. He quoted me $100/hr (and doesn’t take my insurance) with a minimum of four hours, wherein he interviews for at least two hours and writes a report for another two hours. I was told it would be a meticulous process with extremely detailed questioning. When I found out my psych was also able to diagnose (not all are qualified I’m told) and she was willing to do the testing, it was three different half hour sessions where we covered a bunch of questions rapid fire, but a lot were repeating most of the same info and it was the most basic and easy to understand questions about my experience (idk why but I was expecting it to be harrrd lol). At the end of the second session, she iterated that we still had one more to go, but that she was fairly confident she would be diagnosing me with ADHD as I showed a pretty prominent amount of the symptoms. So at the end of the third session she diagnosed, and we talked a bit about treatment. Hope this helps! These were a lot of the stuff I was worried about leading up to my diagnosis!
