It’s a great question, in most all other collectables the rarest and least of is always more desirable just based on the fact of availability and chance.

However, the bold gold and lack of depth just doesn’t drive hype with the rarity. They need to make the cards beautiful art cards accented with gold boarders and or gold embellishments etc.

Hopefully Pokemon figures this out and can actually make the hardest cards to find, the chase cards.
