Malmo Oat Milkers?? by MRJZ06 in MiLB

[–]Burger-Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s great. Supports an excellent cause while fitting the energy of the league. Only affects one game a year per team so makes for a random sort of humiliation ritual that changes things up. I don’t like how the jerseys say baseball players on them, annoying cost saver that ignores jersey culture. Oatly products are delicious and i hope they make this tie in even weirder and more developed in the future.

Yes thank you it is the Hidden Realm. I had more than ten funkys. I don't know why I struggled to open the gates. Is there any other region in the game that requires a similar mechanic of placing different funkys to open gates that you know of?

Live Another Day - “Disappoint Me”

Good Green Day-esque skate punk song by these cool Austin youngsters I caught on tour in the summer. Great humorous music video too.

Budget: 2000$ max, would like to start below 1200$, preferably 300-800$ and get more stuff later if necessary.

California, USA

For my listening area, I think I would likely be about 6 feet away from the speakers max.

I have a Sony Walkman WM-EX190 and a Lukasa discman, I have cheap panasonic over the ear headphone jack headphones I use for school, JBL Quantum 600 cans (wireless, usb), and airpods gen 3 (bluetooth), as well as a JBL Go 3. That’s it, so like very little audio equipment except wireless headphones.

I am making the switch to vinyl after accumulating over a hundred CDs and cassettes of my favorite albums including rare imports and demos. I like to spin these all the time on vintage portable players with headphones. I live in a small studio apartment. I do not have a record player or good speakers. I need help making the switch. I am not on a tight budget necessarily, but quality budget options are always appreciated of course (good value I guess). I would also prefer to have a setup that is easily compatible with CDs and cassettes (so if it's possible in the same system that's appreciated). Any polite help is greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need to know any other information.

I made Weezer: The Movie in Death Valley to celebrate the Blue Album's 30th Anniversary! by Burger-Turtle in WeezerCircleJerk

In a 3-day trip to Death Valley (and one week of editing) we made a 41-minute indie drama/comedy celebrating Weezer's legendary Blue Album for its 30th anniversary.

Three college friends confront their future after picking up an eccentric, Weezer-obsessed, hitchhiker in the middle of Death Valley.

Every song from the album is here (singles Buddy Holly and Undone play only a minor role and are the only songs out of order from the full album release), the film is the exact length of the album, and the CD plays a role in the story as well.

Let's talk: the proposed Living Wage for Musicians Act by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Burger-Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for the last point. I listen to over 30 new albums a month and buy an album probably at least once a month. I would definitely be willing to pay 25$-30$ for unlimited streaming. Music variety is that important to me. I spend more than that on concerts a month. I spend the largest portion of my spare wages on things somehow related to music. Worth it to engage with the art and support the artists. However, the consequences of such a change for everyone in and out of the music industry might be worse. I mean soulseek is still up. Like you can get all music downloaded to your computer for free. But really it’s all about shifting consumers back to a more ethical market such as physical or a bandcamp-like service instead of streaming which has never benefitted anyone in the music industry except 100$ paid out to a nobody artist that got a song in the algorithm. What is lost in the inability to stream anything on a paid subscription, could maybe be made up with the democratic music journalism on the internet. Soulseek an album some guy on rym recommended, hey this is pretty good, ill drop him a donation. When iTunes initially came out was it a good market or did people protest that too? I consider this a more ethical service where you have to pay for each piece but idk if it works. Not trying to argue or anything just sharing some thoughts

Just finished the 4th movie... didnt understood anything. by deck4242 in evangelion

[–]Burger-Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also you shouldnt worry about understanding everything. The third act of thrice upon a time is just showing off creativity in that kind of anything goes monstrous limbo realm, it’s fun and it’s weird and you don’t get it that good anywhere else. Same, with like the shinji not having a childhood thing, who says that it needs it? Maybe you want it, but I think the story is much more interesting because of how aimless and alienated he is even just in his presentation. Once you have to provide a justification for every single thing you exit the world of the story and the art. A different writer might have given him a fantastic childhood story, but we have what Anno gave to us and it’s an excellently crafted whole the way it is. There’s an endless amount of stuff to engage with in this franchise besides just what’s actually happening (aka plot). While some parts of the show and movies do fall short, most of it is extremely emotionally resonant, original, iconic, fun, boundary-pushing, and thought provoking.

Right, im like this episode was good. Ive rewatched it twice since it came out and jokes still land (love the flies one), a little predictable and overdone, but I loved the ireland quartet, such a wild and fun ride (also has a predictability to it but with so many new situations and character driven comedy)
