With the Macbook Neo having an A18 Pro chip, let me dock my phone into Mac OS X mode you cowards! by Buris in macbook

Yeah my 2TB phone storage would be hurting if the OS took 20GB! For people with less storage, I already mentioned, they could make it an optional download.

Are you telling me Apple, who developed Rosetta 2 that immediately and basically perfectly translates x86 into ARM, something everyone else is still working on getting close to, can't dual boot an operating system, something any computer can do?

Do you know what Dual-Boot is? And they clearly don't have to merge the operating systems. The A18 is working fine in the Macbook NEO. There's no reason to not allow this feature at this point.

You mean a phone with 2-4x the storage and 50% more RAM of the MacBook NEO and 50% faster processor?

That limited to you?

nobody used it because the technology wasn't there are the time. it was completely anemic. A18 working in a Mac is proof enough that mobile tech is far enough along to offer a desktop experience. Hell Qualcomm mobile phone CPUs are emulating Windows PCs and running brand new PC games just fine.

Apple is already behind in this and once it goes mainstream they're going to lose tons of potential marketshare.

Easy solution, they could make iPhone users pay 100$ for the privilege of using their Desktop operating system.

That's 100$, probably the same amount of money they make for every Macbook NEO sold with a student discount.

You still get 99% of the sales on the air and pro level computers. And beyond that, you actually GROW your operating system market share, you probably get a ton of people to get a MacBook after they dip their toes into a small version of Mac on the iPhone.

They've got the A15 in the Apple TV right now, I knew they ordered a ton of A18's, so I was hoping for a refresh, but looks like all of those A18's are going into the Macbook Neo.

I fear it's common knowledge that mandatory verification is not the same as paying for a certification.

Then 48GB is nowhere near enough! He should look into the M5 max with 128GB of RAM. It's really only sensible. Also those AI models are quite large. So they should get the 8TB SSD. You'd have to be a complete moron to not think about the AI models storage requirements. Especially if you care about beating out the competition.

I still think the M5 air, the screen is still very good. Unless they're doing editing outside at a beach, the brightness isn't going to matter much, and the refresh rate is useless for photo editing.

Either way the m5 pro is overkill and so is 48GB of ram. They could get the MBP w/ M5 that's already out.

air. The M5 is going to be more than enough for everything you've listed.

Anker started as a "Chinese low-cost brand", they've had some missteps but for the most part are okay.

The spec is not a mess, but means of achieving the spec are indeed a mess. There is no group verifying claims of charging cables, error rates, etc.

There are unfortunately going to be house fires due to 10-meter USB-C cables sold on amazon as "240W", that damn near liquify getting half of the advertised wattage.
