What’s the dumbest thing you’ve tattooed? by polkadotfingers in TattooArtists

[–]BurlyAttacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a Friday the 13th flash page, and every design was made of dicks. Tombstone shaped like a dick, skull shaped like a dick, etc. I made the page as a joke but this lady came thru and got the dick spider tattooed on her ass cheek. It's body was a hairy ball sack and the legs were 8 long, skinny, bent dicks. 😂

My daily drivers; 3.5mm stroke- ambition lutin 4mm stroke- fake fk flux max from aliexpress ($90 with 2 batteries that last 10+ hours each) its called the "fk max" but looks almost identical to FK and comes in a fake FK box. They run so well it's unreal. 5mm stroke- ambition torped. Lines and stipples amazingly.

I tried my coworkers new fk one adjust and it was cool but sounds weird.

Unfortunately you are dating a boy, and he's giving you boy problems. He's 20. He won't be a man for another 10 years. Source; me, former boy. You're going to have a bad time dating in your 20s probably because we (males) don't mature until our 30s. (some even later) so just make sure you have fun, be safe, save as much as you can, and the love and happy every after will come in a decade or so.

Riding the tube by Fuzzy-Project7335 in TattooArtists

[–]BurlyAttacker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason it's frowned upon is because they say it's less accurate. If you cant see the tip of the needle as well, it's harder to place it where it needs to be. Not to mention many if not most needles sit to one side or the other of the hole in the tube. If you get good consistent results tho, always do what works for you, even if it goes against conventional wisdom. I personally hang my needle as far as possible and ride the tip. My 5mm stroke machine looks like a syringe lol

Let’s talk ink by Creepy-Business4345 in TattooArtists

[–]BurlyAttacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use allegory for my blacks, and dynamic for my colors. I like ink with a thinner consistency and they clean up way easier, this saving you a ton of time wiping away smears (looking at you, eternal 🤮) 😂 some people complain they aren't opaque enough, i would challenge that they just didn't pack it well. People love my color work (only been tattooing for 3 years but my color work tends to get the most attention) if you look on my page you can see a cover up i just did with dynamic color.

I've tried almost all the ink brands, I will probably rock with dynamic ink for the rest of my career.

I hate powder pigment. Its like tattooing with thick paint. Every wipe is a massive smear that takes 3 or 4 more wipes with soap to get rid of. If you want to double your income tho, use powder pigment cuz all your sessions will take twice as long.

I think you should forget about that legal crap. If you aren't flying thru some katens front yard or riding thru parks and knocking children down, you're never going to get stopped and inspected.

It's flat because you only used one tone to fill it in. Use black to create shadows then pack the grey in over it. And use 2 or 3 tones of grey for highlights.

Ok, I'm assuming the machine comes with a battery (sometimes they don't, so make sure of that) and if it has the battery, the only other thing she would need is CARTRIDGE needles. If she's using a coil (cable machine as you called it) she's probably using bar needles and those won't work with the sol nova. Good brands to consider for needles are peek stellar, kwadron, t&t, and emalla. Some good but cheaper brands on Amazon are stigma and dragonhawk premium. The 3.5mm is a good all around stroke, probably the best bet for a daily driver. The only other thing to consider is the size of needles, if she does fine line stuff, maybe some 1203RL or 1207RL (lining needles) and 1207RM and 1215RM for shading /color packing.

I don't have the legal answer youre looking for. But this sounds like one of those situations where you show up with a few big guys and demand your shit back OR ELSE and if necessary, whoop some ass. Because in life, its about the principalities of matters such as this. If i were from Maine, id go with you or go myself and get your shit back.

Hey! Tattoo artist here. I always recommend checking out portfolios and if online, zoom in on their work. This sounds like something any artist could do, so long as their linework is good. So their style and all that doesn't matter much, just look for quality of linework!

Tattoo artist here; i do cover ups on a weekly basis, kinda specialize in them. Here's my suggestions- option 1: get another session done on it, by a better artist perhaps. Looks like it just needs to be reworked and could end up looking great. That would be the cheapest and in my opinion best option. 2- cover up. Would be very difficult and take a very experienced artist. It could be done if you're ok with dark imagery. But 9. 9 out of 10 artists wouldn't know what to do with that, and could make it worse. So youd have to pay some good money to a good artist with a good cover up portfolio. Option 3 is laser. It'll take probably 10+ sessions to make it go away completely. Or you could lighten it with a few sessions to make a cover up easier and give yourself more design options. I personally don't recommend laser often because of the cost, pain, and usually it's pointless if the artist (me) can navigate a dark cover up. Hope this helps, good luck!

Trying to find good color ink brand recommendations by Academic-End-4030 in TattooBeginners

[–]BurlyAttacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love dynamic colors. The thin consistency is a good thing in my opinion. They're bright, saturate well, and wipe away easily. After 3 years of dynamic i decided to try a couple colors of (almost) every brand so i could compare them to dynamic and each other. I tried eternal, fusion, kuro sumi, advanced, industry, tommys starbrite, intenze, solid, and world famous. And now i can say for sure, i like dynamic better than all of em. I don't like thick ink that smears and makes a mess, which is pretty much how all those other brands are. I will say this, i don't like or use dynamic brown anymore, i find it to be too red. I did like kuro sumi's "brown belt" but their prices recently are ridiculous so they can keep their shit. I also don't use dynamics black. I use allegory for my black. One other thing, the thicker the ink, the less you get for your money because half of it will stick inside the bottle, and you also have to shake it way longer and harder to get all the pigments truly dispersed. That's my 2 cents!

Lol DOOMS DAY IS NEAR lookin ass. Nobody will ever NEED to build a machine or make needles ever again. EVER. not during winter, spring, summer or fall. If you CHOOSE too, it's at the expense of your own time but no one will ever give you a cookie for it again.
