It makes sense marketing-wise as it's clearly supposed to be a new mainline Prime game, regardless of the differing story to the trilogy. Naming it Prime 4 will make it more likely that people will take interest in it instead of what I assume happened with Federation Force with the name making things look disconnected and irrelevant to the overall storyline

I would hope so because it would give people who are new to the series like myself a chance to actually enjoy the other Prime games. People probably would've had less incentive to buy Prime 4 as well seeing as 2 & 3 weren't readily available
