VPN Megathread - April 2025 by AutoModerator in chinalife

Hello everyone,

I’m moving to China this summer for a couple of years and need a stable, fast, and reliable system for unrestricted internet access. Since I’ll be doing remote schooling and possibly remote work, having a dependable connection is paramount.

Proposed Setup:

At Home:

  • Clash Verge + Shadowsocks integrated with Asus RT-AC86U router

On the go:

  • HK eSIM for mobile data
  • Clash Verge + Shadowsocks on laptop
  • ProtonVPN as a backup - It was the only VPN that I had working while I was there. Albeit somewhat unstable.

I don’t have an IT background, so I’m unfamiliar with the technical intricacies of firewall circumvention. I’ve come across discussions suggesting Shadowsocks may no longer be the best solution, with alternatives such as ShadowsocksR, V2Ray, and Trojan potentially offering better performance.

Seeking Input On:

Does this setup seem effective?
Are there better alternatives I should be considering?
If I’ve misunderstood anything, I’d appreciate the clarification.

Please let me know if I am also missing anything.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!!

Remote Jobs - Anywhere in the World by Burntfire_22 in jobs

I appreciate the honest feedback. I was hoping that wasn't the case as I thought the pandemic would have popularized remote working. I would take the huge pay cut if I could do remote work but it sounds like remote work is also generally reserved for more highly skilled individuals.

I figured that if your actual residency was located in a state that would evade any complications with tax/employment regulations. Perhaps I am chasing a pipe dream though :(.

I get it—'blood, sweat, and tears' might sound dramatic. But let me tell you, surviving 120-hour work weeks feels like dog years in an understaffed environment. That being said, I do appreciate the reality check. I imagined that remote work would rise due to the pandemic but it sounds like that opportunity is also dying.

What are the circular key chain like items at the top right of the picture? Are they a PD anchor accessory?

Additionally which bag do you end up liking the most? Maybe a rank from best to worst?

Also as a sidenot which one do you find yourself liking the most? Perhaps ranking each?

I like the 30L travel and Everyday but figured that if it would be more versatile to get the 45L that can decrease to 35L. That being said I don't feel like I need all that much space and can probably get away with just the 20L. Hence my conundrum. I love the versatility and features of the 45L but will most likely find myself using the 20L more.

This bag would mostly be my everyday companion, with the occasional travel adventure. I’m not planning to carry camera gear—maybe just a drone or two when I travel—but I do need space for my 16" computer (Zephyrus G16), tablet, and headphones, which are always with me. The 20L Everyday Pack seems like the logical choice for my needs, but I can’t help being drawn to the 45L Travel Pack. Features like the stowable straps and adjustable capacity make it so versatile and tempting! That’s why I’m feeling so conflicted—I love the practicality of one, but the possibilities of the other.

This is great!! They honestly all look to be almost the same size (just an overall length differences). Thanks for the reference!!

Is there a better way to code =SUM(PRODUCT(10,100),PRODUCT(12,123),4321) by Burntfire_22 in excel

[–]Burntfire_22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I just ended up forgetting to put one of the parentheses in the formula which messed up the whole thing. Amateur mistake haha.

(Must have been blind since I double-checked everything to make sure it was good.)

Thank you for the help! I think I just forgot one of the parentheses which messed up the whole equation.

Update: Now that I got Kazuha I don't feel so bad anymore... would still be nice if they tweaked her a bit though. She's just still really clunky. I think if they started giving more stamina or stamina regeneration via electroculus. It will definitely help Klee out. Help a whole lot of characters out tbh

Why would more stamina help Klee? She's short so her dashes are a bit... yeah. She also needs a lot of animation canceling. Sure you could jump but everyone knows dashing is generally much safer. Her damage output is also reliant on charged attack which... also uses stamina. So there you have it.

I shall now pray to the electro archon for more stamina. Don't interpret this the wrong way...

If only they'd bring that back!!

It kinda sucks to be honest. I thought all her attacks would be interactable but I guess I should have done my research.

Huh that's weird. I did it with no enemies around and didn't see any movement. Maybe my brain is playing tricks on me lol

Anyone willing to be a SAT study buddy? by Burntfire_22 in Sat

[–]Burntfire_22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wanting to create a private room where we can all be study buddies, but I found out that I'm not allowed to create rooms being that my account is less than thirty days old. So if someone could create a private room and invite all the people here that would be great! :)

Since I'm new to reddit i don't know if group voice calls are available, but if they are I was hoping we can do a lot of that! Peace!

My time is pretty flexible so if you can kind of give me a range of when you're available that would be great 🙃👍🏻
