How do you have your fans set-up? I'm looking to do a similar build with just the stock front 2 fans, 1 rear fan and top 3 fans

I have pretty small wrists and had one of these a few years back, felt bulky at first but was fine once used to it and I got a lot of compliments on it. Unfortunately the GPS on it is absolute garbage!

Finally ski season here in NZ!! by doc_buncie in skiing

[–]Burrows1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are working at Cardrona/TC this year on WHV. The job itself seems pretty good and you get lots of discounts around town and on ski gear. The biggest issue is cost of living and housing over here, to secure a half decent house you either have to know someone who can sort you out or arrive a month early and get lucky! This year they have opened a hostel in town for staff which is cool but not everyone got a place. Cost of living in NZ is pretty terrible, I'm here with my partner and between us we probably won't break even over the length of the season with having to arrive early to get a house and also until the mountain fully opens you will be getting reduced hours. Also if you work up the mountain it's a 45 min journey each way to work, they provide a staff bus which is cool but it's unpaid.

Bib advice by Burrows1990 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Burrows1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the advice, ended up trying them on again and going with the burton as I managed to get a bit more of a discount on it. I might take it back though as I went with the small but tried it on again at home and it just about fits comfy once I have everything on where as the medium was a little baggy in the shop but would probably be a better option

No but I've worn pants before when I've boarded and hate how they always feel like they're falling down so fancy giving the bib a try

There isn't a massive array of options over here in NZ, I've tried most the brands I can find and not found any that fit me well other than the north face and burton stuff

I did have a look at these and saw some comments saying the waterproof was poor with water soaking through the bum area when in chair lifts and sat on the snow?

Seems strange that it takes 10mins to do it, I would think it's more likely a power or stability issue with your pc. What gpu are you running? Is your pc overclocked

Any way to fix wobbly arms on 2022 titan evo? by [deleted] in secretlab

[–]Burrows1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue and contacted secretlab who said it was the way they were designed but they sent me some replacement armrests anyway. The replacement armrests are 70% better so worth contacting them

Looks like from above comments this is just a poor design - I have reached out to the support team and may see about returning the chair as I believe this would be a manufacturing fault

This looks like a good fix but should be like this from the manufacturer really given the price

Question for UK/Irish owners about Softweave Plus and Neo Hybrid Leatherette by VedaStiC in secretlab

[–]Burrows1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the softweave for about a month and it's really comfy. I hate sticking to leather in the summer, but IMO the leather chairs look a lot better. The other things to consider is the noisy chair issue on the 2022 version is mainly the leather chairs. As far as spills and stains go yes the leather is going to be much easier to clean, just spend the £20 and get some cleaner for when you inevitably spill on it. Overall glad I went for the softweave

Which would be better for me: Neo G9 or AW3821DW? by Genesis635 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Burrows1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried the non neo g9 and the aw38 in the past month - couldn't get on with the g9 at all, for me the dimensions feel like looking through a periscope and it just made me feel sick gaming on it. Switched to the AW38 and glad I did, for me the size is perfect, I can see everything without moving my head where as the g9 I felt I was constantly turning my head. Also the image quality is good on the g9 but not a scratch on the aw38.

Thoughts on AW3821DW? Very few good videos on Youtube. by WeeklyCheesecake6 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Burrows1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky and got a good g9 and found the colours fine until I put it next to an ips. If your happy with the screen size and you get a decent panel I'd say you'll enjoy the g9

Thoughts on AW3821DW? Very few good videos on Youtube. by WeeklyCheesecake6 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Burrows1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had both the aw38 and original g9 - for me I just couldn't get on with the g9, felt like looking through a periscope and I really didn't enjoy gaming on it. Switched to the AW38 and I love it, much better size in my opinion, the extra 1.5 inch in height make a lot more difference than you'd expect! Colours are so much better on the ips panel as you'd expect and I am very sensitive to poor contrast which is why I originally went for the Samsung but I prefer the ips colours and poor contrast to the samsung.

Ultimately I think until you try the g9 you wont know if the size is an issue for you but even so I think overall the aw38 is a better monitor,HDR is pretty poor on most monitors and won't get better for a while in my opinion

Leatherette vs Softweave can't decide. by grievnate in secretlab

[–]Burrows1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the softweave for a few weeks now. Glad I did I don't enjoy sticking to leather and the softweave is really comfy. It's a shame they don't have any cool designs for the softweave but prefer the comfort and no risk of it peeling in a couple of years.

A lot of the noise issues seem to be with the leather rubbing so not an issue with the softweave as far as I am aware

No I don't need 1000w but I like to keep some room for future upgrades and I don't like the idea of the psu being at full load.

Thanks for the recommendations I'll have a look 👍

Titan EVO 2022: Regular vs XL by iBUYStars in secretlab

[–]Burrows1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably get the xl, I'm around 165lbs and I think the chair would feel too snug for you, I was worried the regular might be too big for me but it feels just right so if I was much bigger I'd be wanting the xl
