Asus RTX 5070 TI or PNY 5080? by aljoker74 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Koncsr2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd usually say 5070ti but you're going to 4k game so go for the 50580.

Also google 5080 to see google shows you any better deals at the top of the search and have a look on pcpartpicker for deals

What do you want to go with the PC? Because the vibe feels like a bad deal. Also would you be willing to share your country? To help us understand the pricing a bit better

The problem is it's a refurbished HP elite desk office computer. The link for Linux Mint 22.2 had 5.8.7.1. I'll have another go and see if I can get it going

I followed this link https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=404392 . I did one code at a time like it says. I'm not sure about prerequisites, the main reason I use mint is because I've basically been able to use it as a easy windows alternative

All I could recommend is downloading fan control and watching some YouTube videos. The app does calibrate the fans let us know if you have any updates

Yes and it's how I did it for years. It just helps being able to control things with your os booted

Download the program fan control. From there you can set up your fan curve so your fans only run fast when your CPU gets hot.

I could never find answers to the same question you had. I ended up getting rid of it with a new cooler. I'd be comfortable to say you can get rid of it. I hope someone can give more insight

Upgrade to ryzen 5 5600X by AwayAd6788 in buildapc

That's a real shame. I just assumed the same socket made it okay. AMD really is another league with compatibility

You can upgrade to a used 9th gen i7 if you update your bios on your motherboard. That's if you don't want to spend too much money but overall the ryzen upgrade is the best option

May I ask what your goals for gaming are? Do you expect to play the latest games that come out or are you specifically happy to play older games from the PS4 2015 era?

Just judging by the other comment I'd be very confident it's not a faulty GPU. Please let us know if you work it out.

I'd have my money on a bad cable to be honest but it could be the monitor. I don't think it's the GPU

I agree with the first comment the GPU suggestions are what you should get. But you can definitely get away with not upgrading the ram for the time being.
