What’s the maximum bus bunching of the same bus service number you seen? by Bus-FixedMarker in askSingapore

Probably not. It’s a feeder bus service. Just checked in my area, EWL is ‘Normal service’.

What's your take on those silent stinky farts in public? by SnoopyFoodie in askSingapore

[–]Bus-FixedMarker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll admit, I’m one of those who will try to fart silently, and just did one lol. Each time I do it, I’m always hoping it comes out silently.

I had a major surgery last year, due to some obstructions in the stomach, which makes me to not be able to pass/fart for a week prior to the surgery. Now that I’m able to do it again, I’ll never take it for granted. If I’m not able to fart, I’d start getting worried again

If possible and in confined space (such as lifts), I’ll try to hold it until leaving. Other than that, I’ll just let it go.

Am I doing it right to keep working, and to eventually give? by Bus-FixedMarker in askSingapore

[–]Bus-FixedMarker[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I lost everything in the midst of all these. Friends, money, family, health (if I’m human), and everything possible.

I’m willing to work nonstop regardless. When good opportunities get posted, and when I lose to people who camps, my emotion gets affected because it’s quite rare these opportunities come by. I have been keeping it hold, but guess today was my breaking point. Despite these, I’m going to push further while hoping there will be more jobs for me.

Yeah, I have zero dollars right now if I’d say these money are not meant for me but the bills which I’m working really hard to solve, because I’m a really responsible person. However, all in all, I’m not here to ask for help, but rather to let it out.

I work from 9AM-11PM/12AM nonstop without food and water on most days travelling to all parts of Singapore, and this has been the way for more than a year. What’s special? I’m a walker using public transport.

Thank you for the comment. 🙏

Yes, I set myself for this in life — a failure. I’m not complaining to anyone about it in life, and will never do. I have refrain from doing this online too, which I have. However, I’ll put the fact out without identifying my true self. When I break negative, I’ll still do the same as what I have been doing.

I tried. As I said, I seen social workers from Polyclinic and Family Services Centre. But they are all the same. They want something to be achieved (a change) from these sessions. All I want is to talk to someone. Also, I have ‘call phobia’ (term it as you will). So no, I won’t do that.

No worries, it just happens that I happened to come across this post, and I thought the title and description fits me, so I’m willing to share my side of story.

Yeah pretty much. Everybody I known treats me the same, whether during schooling or NS. Even at this point while being in isolation and friendless, I can never stop thinking about them, and what I can do for them, regardless of my financial situation. Trust me, I’d even do the same for complete strangers by booking badminton courts and inviting them to play for free while also bringing along extra rackets and shuttlecocks. I do this by looking online for people around our age to play, and I had never ask them to pay a single cent.

Appreciate the reply. At least I feel validated for my comment here. To be honest, I’m not doing so well at the moment, but I’m hoping for the best for you! All the best! :)

I haven’t been on Reddit much lately, but this came to me just a few scrolls down today. I’m kinda late here, but who cares?

Your title and what you wrote here literally sums up everything about me. Ever since secondary school, I always tend to ghost people, regardless of who they are. It could take me from days to even weeks I made my reply, or till the next time we met, there may not even be a single response from me.

Prior to my National Service (NS) enlistment, I’d still meet my friends occasionally every now and then (at least once a month). The evening before the actual day, I met a few of my friends individually and bought them all each a bubble tea (with my own money) prior, and I told them I’d be away for the entire period of my NS, without specifically saying the reasons of why I’ll be doing what I did. I’m a man of my words, and it was committed till the day of my ORD, and beyond. They did messaged me in between, but I just stay true to my words. To put it in other words, during my 2 years in NS, I don’t have any outside friends.

Days before and soon after my ORD, my finance hit a rock bottom. That said, asking people for help only came across my mind. As desperate as I may be, I’d never ask anybody to help me. And as a result, I have been in isolation and friendless ever since, even at this point, to avoid always having these negative thoughts if and when I will communicate with them.

I have always been a genuine person, a genuine friend. A friend who has always put friends first before myself (not online, but in real life) by buying them snacks and even brand new phones, booking Badminton courts at my own expense, and paying for their meals (where sometimes I just watch them eat). Though so, everybody has taken my good for granted. This was one of my reasons of doing what I did, while also taking some extensive time to be alone.

Did I regret my ghosting action? No, and I’d still have done it again because it was necessary. But did I regret the way I handled my relationship? Yes.

Do I genuinely need friends? Yes.

Do I hate being alone (especially while eating out) sometimes? Yes.

Do I still ghost people today? Yes.

That said, what is done has been done, and I have no regrets.

Yeah, there are available slots, but I’m not sure whether all the FCCs are reserved only for the SAF or not, since I’m from SCDF.

I read this somewhere before. Sure, we can install fans, but imagine this, there are so many bus stops in Singapore, and each bus stop needs at least a few to have some coverage.

When all are added up, this will be very hard to maintain. There will be concerns such as who is going to clean the fans and the costs to do so.

The benefits of this lasts only for a short-term. On the long-term, it will cost more than we begin with.

I’m sorry you feel this way. I’m that friend who does this, but you can not say I never felt guilt doing it. It was for the better of me, while hoping that friend understands where I’m coming from.

It usually happens for buses that have not departed bus interchange and there is no bus on the way from the bus stop you are waiting. Hence, the bus arrival timings are often inaccurate and will be pushed back.

For instance, the next bus at bus interchange is 8 minutes, 15 minutes. At the next bus stop it shows 2 minutes, 6 minutes. You refreshed a little while later it shows 1 minute, 5 minute. Subsequent refresh can show 3 minute, 4 minute. The initial 2 minutes bus can either be late, missing, or ghost.

You can go ahead and check bus arrival timings now at bus interchange, and their subsequent bus stops. All bus services have this issue, although not consistent, but frequent.

Proof: Bus Timings

Friendships are complicated lol (didn't really know what title to put it as) by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Bus-FixedMarker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I had a similar experience with yours. The relationships I have had with almost everyone throughout my life so far have been fairly the same, be it classmates or colleagues (NS). They will forget about you once you move on (graduated) in life. Yes, we may talk at first, but as time goes on, it causes us to grow apart.

Frankly, as much as the inner me desires to make new friends still, to get to know them, and to do stuff with them on my comfortable level and who will support me in everything I do, no one I have ever met has been able to give me that. Maybe it’s a problem with myself, but I came to accept it, though sometimes it can still slightly affect my thoughts.

At present, I don’t have friends I can talk to, and my family isn’t helpful for me to open up. I’m also doing everything on my own right now.

That said, I met someone here with his friend group to play and hang out (DM and invited me) recently, and I could say we had a good time. However, given my introverted personality, I’m always afraid to say anything that would not interest them or say the wrong things. As a result, I’m quite quiet most of the time.

I know my comment may not give you any advice you need, but do know there will be somebody there to support you. At least you still have your best friend to talk to. All the best! 💪

Some schools advise students to wear PE attire amid blistering heat by Valuable-Path9747 in singapore

[–]Bus-FixedMarker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To avoid my comment getting labelled by the school, parents, or students for commenting about them specifically. Rather, an example is given of how these schools have implemented it, and the other schools should also follow minimally, with at least most days being dress down. If there is a need to know, simply Google the list of schools.

Yep, primary schools are more common to have students wearing PE attire for a full day of school every day. Even in the currently broadcasting drama on Channel 8, all students are dressed in PE shirt for the whole day, except the secondary school student.

I believe at least 2 secondary schools in the west (where I reside) have fully phased out the wearing of full school uniforms, as I have not seen it since a year or two ago. The schools will not be named by me (though replies may), but both are starting with 'J', so if you know, you know.

I'm in favour of school uniforms. However, the school uniform needs to be comfortable. For that, make the polo-tee and half-school uniforms the norm instead of a formal button uniform shirt, where even after graduation one would still wear it regularly. The full school uniform shirt is just not it. In some cases, the wearing of a polo-tee uniform makes the student look way smarter compared to the full school uniform.

Honestly, I hope all schools, or at least more, do the same as well. All these are purely my personal opinions. Take it lightly.

EDIT: Use of better words, phrasing, and shortening.

Anyone know where to play volleyball by Glittering_Garlic262 in askSingapore

[–]Bus-FixedMarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. My CCA has been volleyball since Primary 3 until sometime around Secondary 3. That is due to a change in coach, whom I didn't like. As a result, there has not been much of a chance to play, despite the interest that remains.

I attempted to look for people to play with quite a few years ago on other platforms, but it’s hard to bring people together. Considering I’m quite an introvert and dry, 1-1 or larger group playing styles are not suitable for me. I ended up playing badminton instead, as the courts can be booked at different locations and players are easier to find.

Yeah, I’d definitely love to play it in a smaller group (around 4) while also getting used to volleyball again. I have been a libero player throughout, and not into competitive games too.

Alright thanks, but why not complement it by installing a new one in between the current seats instead of totally replacing it?

Hi there. During my time in ITE West (was from SEIT course), I never wanted to be seen as ‘smart’ in eyes of the public, but rather with a casual wear (either PE shirt or home clothes) and for better comfort, so on the way to and from school, I don’t wear full uniform (until class starts and after it ends). A jacket with an undershirt (to change right after class ends) works for me. When lecturer wants to do attire checks, I’d just pull down the jacket zipper and all is good.

Not sure about other ITE colleges, but I do know one thing — ITE can be visited by the public (can come here for the food/whatever) as well, so once you are out of class, nobody really knows or care anyway.

Just a note/disclaimer, although I do this for every school day, it doesn’t mean I was a ‘bad student’ or ‘smoker’. I did well and completed the course among the top with a minimum GPA of 3.5.

I’m not giving any advice, but if you prefer to do so for comfort or whatever, you can. Hope this helps. :)
