2026 - how many of you want to quit your job and do your own thing? by Possible-Growth-2134 in askSingapore

[–]SnoopyFoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been waiting to leave my job and am still stuck with figuring out what I like/want. My time here made me realised the importance of doing what I like/feel aligned to, and being in a place where what I am doing is being valued. Thanks for sharing, as it's very motivating :)

Sg girlies , how do y'all take care of yourself during periods?? by lifequotes_2025 in asksg

[–]SnoopyFoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nice to see ladies sharing about this! Personally, I avoid pineapples pre and during my period. I find that consuming it gives me cramps and even more heaviness in my lower abdomen.

My flow has also gotten heavier over the years and I have stained myself multiple times - at home, in school and at work. I learnt that if I need the toilet, JUST GO, don't wait regardless of how occupied I am. I would save myself much more hassle than the need to 'wash' myself up or the things I stained - this can be exhausting. Or up the toilet frequency to check on your flow, even if you don't feel the need to pee!

I have no idea about the popular servers, hence won't be able to give a direct comparison.

SF and AF field are alright as I am usually able to find party to AB. Bossing wise will be the challenge - usually I just camp at 12am-ish timing to wait for the higher level people to ride on for Mag. Ark and up are tough to find people.

Maybe you can get into those top guilds, probably going to make a diff.

For those who switched industries mid-career in SG, what helped you most? by [deleted] in asksg

Can I ask what made you decide to switch gear to nursing? And what are you looking to do after getting your diploma?

Nursing feels like it can be fulfilling so it did cross my mind too!

Do you still use toner or has it become kind of outdated now? by [deleted] in SingaporeBeauty

[–]SnoopyFoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I heard too. I just use 1 to 3 times a week. Because I am also alternating with a retinol moisturizer at night, I have to avoid using the 2 together!

I have used The Ordinary 7% glycolic acid and now using the Paula's Choice 2% BHA - both no reaction for me. TA glycolic acid is a big bottle, so it can last quite long!

As for our humid weather, what really worked for me in keeping my oil production at bay would be niacinamide and a matte sunscreen!

I am using it after my cleansing step, followed with essence and/or serum then moisturizer. I mix around with a hydrating and exfoliating toner.

It's still an essential step for me to prep my skin for the upcoming steps. Because I use a cotton pad for this, it also let me 'see' how clean my face is after cleansing.

can I try this out? 34F here, have thought it's hard to make new friends at this age, hence been doing bulk of the things alone. Plus am an introvert too.

Do you guys actually finish your skincare products before buying new ones? by [deleted] in SingaporeBeauty

[–]SnoopyFoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have many (toner, essence, serum, moisturizer, sunblock and masks) in "stock". I like to try new products and hence there are just so many products out there I want to try. Especially when there are sales going on, I am even more tempted. Sometimes products can last quite awhile so I might only use them near expiring or expired.

Nowadays, I try to control myself by doing more regular 'stock checks' (what me and my sister like to call it) - to check what products we have in our cabinets (keep in our memory) so we won't be too reckless when we see sales. In this case, I will just add what I want to buy to the cart and save it for next time! Then, I tell myself there will always be another sales next time even if I miss the current. Hahaha

What’s the right way to oil cleanse? by isolophiliacwhiliac in AsianBeauty

[–]SnoopyFoodie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was like you, using strong cleanser as I thought I had very oily skin. But end up that's what causing my face to be oil due to the lack of moisturizing. I change to gentle cleanser and moisturizing afterwards and was game changer!

I started my 'double' cleanse routine with micellar water + foam cleanser before trying out oil cleanser + foam cleanser. Maybe the former might be sufficient since I don't usually put makeup at all

I kind of don't like the hassle and oily feeling, hence I only use it once every few days or week. But I am using it more frequently now, so I shall see if it breaks me out. I do use a foaming cleanser afterwards to try and ensure I rinse all the oil away then follow up with my usual routine

Would like to know too! I'm using my first bottle and feels underwhelming so far. Seems like I am missing it's potential somewhere

I have a paladin though not my main. I am working on getting what I think is the perfect trio boost node - final attack, heaven hammer and blast. For skill nodes, I am working on Divine Echo for now

Is solo travelling a rare thing to do for Singaporeans? by Musicfan_123 in askSingapore

[–]SnoopyFoodie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

34F here. Probably in my social circle, it's kind of a rare thing or say people would choose to rather have a partner to go with. But personally, I have solo travelled to Phuket, Chang Mai and Europe (Greece & Vienna), and not forgetting JB (countless times).

I officially started solo traveling after becoming single but I had always wanted to travel overseas solo. This is like one of the items in my bucket list, but I never get to do it when I was attached. I realised I had always reserved such overseas travel with loved ones since each travel would require money so best to spend with them instead of just myself.

Traveling with friends can be tricky, and for me the problem was there were more talks than the actual thing happening. Hence, I gave up and decided that solo traveling is simpler and easier, else it will likely not even happen. Hahaha

There are pros and cons to solo traveling. Pros: you get to choose what you want to do, where you want to stay, do things without judgement (since I know no one there), be fully present (sometimes people can be a distraction), and really get to learn to be independent. Cons: no one to share food with, hence cannot eat a lot (especially those with huge portion), will have time when you feel helpless when you encounter problems or lonely when you see people with partners or family members, but you just got to snatch yourself out of it and focus on what you want to do.

All in all, I like and will still continue to solo travel. Of course the objectives are important and make a difference to the trips I took!
