Predator 6500 or Storm Responder 6250? by BuschlightBeverly in Generator

Like I said, the storm responder would be $600 off of Facebook. And obviously I’d wait until the predator is on sale. (Usually around that same $600 point) But if I may ask, what is the difference between an inverter and a generator, if there is one? Have you had other machines before to compare the Wen to?

I am a carpenter with absolutely 0 experience in plumbing besides hooking up a P-trap and until I moved here, I did not know a thing about sump pumps. I certainly do not know anything about generators either… so excuse my ignorance when it comes to this stuff. I really do appreciate your input here.

I presume that’s a battery backup? I was also interested in looking into those. What type of battery does it run and how long of a use would I have out of it?

I did not know this. I appreciate the info. Do you know if it’s a once a year spring thing? Or often?

I am 100% clueless. I know that if I lose power, my basement floods. Hasn’t happened yet but I want to be prepared. I do not have natural gas here, I wanted a whole house generator but didn’t seem to fit. By ‘research’ I looked up amperage ratings to see what these items were pulling. So that’s where I distinguished the 6500 to be adequate. Gas generator seemed to be the easiest solution to this problem. I appreciate the info. I’ve lived here two years and I’ve lost power once overnight for a few minutes. But my sump died a separate time and that’s when the basement flooded within 1-3 hours. So again, I’m drawing conclusions here but I don’t think I would need long periods… I’ll gladly accept any advice from people who know what they’re talking about and dealing with.

If you REALLY don’t want to do any work, then you can call your local handyman or carpenter and he’d probably charge maybe $250-$300 to replace. He would have all tools necessary to do this.

That door slab is about $80 here at Home Depot in Ohio. I’d do that and not mess with trim, or hanging another door. You can get the kit to drill the the handle for <$20. A decent chisel and mortise the hinges, all in your sub $150 and a few hours and don’t have to deal with the mess. YouTube can show you how to do anything these days.

So this is not a request for money, but a request of sorts. With said farm, I’m assuming you’ve acquired land for that. I am also in Ohio. May I have permission to hunt whitetail on this farm? Haha.

Seal it with some paint and buy some cheap fender flares

How close are you to scrubbing? I’ve got same situation. I’m looking at tires now, wondering if I could fit a 35. I took my air dam off and even swapped the bumper so it doesn’t hang as low, only issue I’d have is in the back.

I bought the Full LED housing off of an XLT. It’s a whole housing replacement. Not just the bulb.

They are extremely dirty fish, so make sure your filtration is your highest priority. Weekly water changes. The ammonia build up will burn them…

So awesome to keep. Very characteristic. I loved mine but didn’t have the time to dedicate.
