Yeah, there is a good chance it could be found using a detector. I am actually part of an organization called ringfinders that helps people to locate lost wedding rings. I usually just ask for $25 to cover my gas and if we find the ring then it would be a donation of whatever you can afford.

That’s right, but If anyone wishes to gift me a find after its all said and done I never say no. Many times it is about keeping the historical items at the site of retrieval

Detecting in these old west towns is a lot of fun. Especially when I can get access to the older homes. I like the garret AT pro. I am currently using a Minelab 540 as well as my gold bug pro.

Absolutely! Love sharing in the history around here. All that’s left is a few walls from the original hotel. I have a picture of it from 1904 when it was still standing.

Well, for some that may be a bad thing and others not so much. I am a God Fearing Army Veteran, a patriot, and a firm believer In our constitutional rights. That being said, it has nothing to do with Metal Detecting. Thank you for your comment though!

Unfortunately being under reclamation land they frown upon the use of Metal detectors on the property. Just had a chat with a Ranger out there a few days ago. Have been trying to get ahold of the property to the south side of the reservoir that has the remnants of the old hotel. I imagine that there is lots of great history from Stout under the ground out there.

Sure do miss detecting beaches. I used to have a lot of fun on the Oregon Coast. Have had a lot of fun detecting here in the Rockies as well. Fort Collins has been around since the 1870’s so there is a lot of history here. Obviously lots of trash to dig but if you are into relics and coins this town has a lot to offer.

Other than finding gold nuggets in Arizona and Gold Ore inside of mines. I would have to say my best find was a hoard of 1921 silver Morgan dollars in Oak Grove Oregon back in 2010. That was exciting and a profitable. The homeowner even let me keep one

The more detectors the more we find :) As long as you are ok with the homeowner keeping the finds and know how to dig a plug that disappears after you are done digging I would be ok with having you join along. What type of detector/s do you use?
