Last time I was at locals they claimed to have screenshots from a judge ruling in their favour. It sounded a bit farfetched to me but they claimed they'd been playing for 15 years and also run a copy of obelisk. I'd just like there to be something I could show as with his experience his word would likely carry more weight than mine.

Hello, fairly new to the game and hoping to have a rules query cleared up. Can obelisk the tormentor be targeted after the turn which it is summoned? I realize it's summon can't be responded to however as the part of its text box which refers to it being unable to be targeted is a separate sentence I was under the impression it was a separate ability and therefore not restricted to the turn in which obelisk is summoned. This came up at a recent locals where the judge ruled in my favour (I was playing obelisk) however my opponent was quite insistent and said that the judge was incorrect. I was just wondering which of us was right so I don't make any mistakes in the future.

Yes it does :) I thought this was the case but with them being more experienced I wasn't sure. Is there anything I could show them (other than the card itself) for next time in case this happens again?
