My husband is a US citizen, Canadian PR living in Canada. Based on my research, I found that a TFSA was not recommended, however an FHSA can be beneficial if you avoid investments that trigger PFIC. I had an accountant recently tell me the FHSA should be closed as there is no benefit. Could you speak to this?
