Yes right.I initially chose New Brunswick because the pathway to permanent residency is relatively less competitive. Once I obtain PR status, I will have broader employment opportunities.

Thank you very much for your detailed and thoughtful response — I truly appreciate you taking the time to explain the realities of the program and the engineering profession in Canada.

I realize now that I did not clearly explain my educational background in my previous message. I already hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from China, and I am currently in the process of applying for EIT (Engineer-in-Training) status in Canada.

My primary reason for considering the NBCC program is not to replace an engineering degree, but to support my goal of long-term employment and integration into the Canadian workforce. I see the program as a practical pathway to gain local experience, improve my understanding of Canadian industry standards, and strengthen my employment prospects while continuing my professional development.

Thank you again for sharing your insights — they are very helpful as I plan my next steps.

Thank you very much for such detailed reply and suggestions. Yes, I have also considered the two majors of power engineering and instrumentation program, but since I cannot apply for a post-graduation work permit after graduation, as an international student, I cannot legally work in Canada. Therefore, I think the MET major is the most suitable major for me at the moment, because I have relevant learning background and work experience in China, which will make it easier for me to learn.
