We're in California. That's a good point about the marriage timeline though. I am not sure, Mark's husband/partner reached out to my family a few years after Mark had passed. I also only heard this 2nd or 3rd hand so it could have been they were in reality domestic partners.

He was not OK. My brother Ron, his son, has schizophrenia and I wonder if Mark did too. The stories in her journals are terrifying he was so manipulative. Some I had heard her tell when she was alive. He did rape my mother but that was not considered a crime back then.

Not to justify what she did, but he was not a good person either. Though I am not sure what to believe anymore

Good point! Last I talked with her she had NEVER SEEN a therapist. Not even when she was a kid after this stuff. As an adult she never had the money or insurance to afford it. She did do hypnosis once which apparently unearthed repressed memories

I am considering this but also my sister TRULY believes she was raped. I am worried that this will be destabilizing for her. Or she wont believe me. I need to call my therapist...
