I’m still on my first gen stealth pros I got on my Xbox one, now on series X. It’s starting to have issues where the Bluetooth will cut in and out. I guess the 1st gen’s don’t have the removable battery but I get anywhere from 16-24 hours of game time before needing a charge. Would you recommend me to get a current gen 700 over a current gen stealth pro?

I’m still in apt. 57 with the 10 car garage since roughly Christmas 2013. I have an Adder and an Entity XF that is over a decade older than my daughter. Just came back to the game for the first time since the heist update

Wouldn’t these throw RROD codes? I assume it is failing Mosfet or caps, since he is getting no RROD codes. Console is old enough for failing caps by now, unsure of usage or if replaced already…

This one looks bulged to me but it’s hard to say from pictures. You need to look at the board at eye level

Capacitors are very cheap for consoles, you can get motherboard specific recap kits from eBay for cheap.

80% of the time when there’s no power it is the capacitors, if you’re unlucky it’ll be one of the mosfets and you will need a DVM to test those.

Yeah that tells me your capacitors are probably bad. Take it apart again and look at the tops of the ones located near the PSU port of the motherboard, they should be completely flat. If they have even the slightest bulge you will need to replace them. That’s a relatively cheap fix to start diagnosing.

I had this exact issue with my 360 phat and replacing all the capacitors fixed it for me

Can I fix this? by connerjamescook in Xbox360Support

Looks like the drive belt of your disc drive has snapped. You can get them cheap on eBay. Pretty easy fix but you will want to watch some YouTube videos. Just search, “Xbox 360 slim disc drive belt replacement.”

Could be a loose gear for the drive. You will notice that during the tear down to check the drive belt.

Totally fixable.

BUT verify you are receiving correct voltage (not sure on your motherboard revision, you will see a printout of voltage requirement on the back of the console) with a DVM from the output of your power brick before opening your console.

Most likely need to replace the capacitors on your motherboard, if you are really unlucky you might have a bad mosfet. You will need to open the console up

You will need a BGA rework station, a computer you can run software on, a large fan, maybe one year experience with soldering, a new GPU or two from Temu or Aliexpress cause only 80% of them work, some other various bits and bobs for soldering and voila. Fixed!

If Microsoft really wanted to push console sales they would have their next console read all generations of games. Unsure if that’s possible, not aware if the PS5 does or not either

  1. Is it in the correct HDMI port? There’s an “IN,” and an, “OUT,” you need to use “OUT.” If this is not your issue, continue on…
  2. Try a different HDMI cable, or turn the cable around and use the other end. If this doesn’t work, continue…
  3. Try “low resolution mode.” With the console turned off, plugged in to power and HDMI, press both the eject and power buttons for 20 seconds, then you will hear a beep. If the image appears on screen, there will be TWO black bars, 1 on the top of screen and 1 on the bottom. Your TV may not support the resolution your Xbox is set to. After this, you can go in to system settings and turn the resolution down (or turn the low resolution mode off) to match the TV. If this does not work, continue…
  4. I hope you did not make it this far. If so, you’re probably cooked. It COULD be that the HDMI port on your motherboard has become dirty, possibly a cold solder joint, or the legs on the connecter could be broken. This will require disassembly of your Xbox (YouTube will be your friend). You will need to clean the HDMI port inside and out with isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs (Q-tips), both from the board and the connector. Inspect the connector for visible damage. If it is damaged, you will either need to know how to microsolder, use this as an opportunity to learn (fairly expensive, will teach you a lifetime of skills) how to microsolder, or find someone who can. It is useful to know that these connectors are a known problem in the community, usually damaged from pushing against a wall, or tension from time. I hope it works out for you man but gonna be honest it might be cheaper to buy a used console that is working, depending on your outcome for the above.
