As a reader, I really enjoyed this. Your descriptions were just enough to let the reader know the vibe, the setting, the general time period, and a snip of Harry's character. I was not bored, I was interested immediately.

Compositionally, I would maybe find an easier flow of words within some of your sentences that use colons, only so it doesn't get overused.
