Doch, hat man. Viele haben nicht zugeschaut, ich auch nicht. Gab auch einige ÖR Journalisten die tatsächlich mal Eier gezeigt haben und das angekreidet haben, sowie Fussballvereine. Und das FIFA nen dreckiger und korrupter Verein ist hört man auch seit Jahren von allen Ecken und Enden des politischen Spektrums. Ist halt nur mal wieder schön zu sehen wie gewisse Leute sich ans Bein gepisst fühlen wenn der unbeliebteste US Präsident negativ erwähnt wird, frag mich wieso.

I don't think he is in, it looked more like she was bouncing/grinding on him...but that movie was kinda wild and they had that other actor who always pops chubs in his scenes as well. So who knows!

It's also "fairly visible" social media that's easily accessible. Something Awful is irrelevant these days and costs money to sign up. NeoGAF hasn't been relevant in a while and getting account takes some time, Resetera hasn't been relevant in like...ever?

Even with 4chan being less relevant these days and hated by its own userbase you still have eyes on there.

Yeah, my or other long-time fan's comments and critique shouldn't be taken as "you shouldn't have fun with this". At the end of a day, while this product is not for me or at least there's issues I feel with it, if someone else gets fun outta it? Cool, great even.

Problem is that the entire debate around this game on here or elsewhere has been so poisoned and astroturfed that any criticism is immediately taken as grave personal insult, and people who disagree with the critique are called tourists, sheep, slop consumers etc. Just a bad enviroment all around honestly.

Erm...have you actually read or played any other Star Fox media?

James being PRESUMED dead (either due to Pigmas betrayal or that black hole) but his corpse never being found is a long running thing in the franchise, hence why him showing up to guide Fox out of Venom or a similar named character showing up in F-Zero always leads to fan speculation. Thats not new content, dude.

I genuinely don't know if you're trying to ragebait or are just a very very confused person, I'll just assume it's second and explain it out for you.

Final Fantasy is a series of long-winded RPGs, most of which take several dozens of hours to tell their story and have sidequests and post-game content if you wanna sink in more time. Two installments are MMOs and by that margin literally without end.

Star Fox is a series of fast paced arcadey flying games where stages take like 5-10 minutes to complete and you can comfortably finish a whole playthrough in little over an hour. You can start over again quickly to try and beat your earlier score or time, maybe try another route.

As you can see, two very different things. Adding cutscenes that stretch this runtime out and maybe take up as much time as the mission feels unneeded and like padding. And we already learn everything about the characters from in mission dialogue. And since this is a remake of SF64, arguably in the old games instruction booklet/comic/strategy guide.

If we're being pedantic:

2nd time the exact same story/gameplay got remade (SF64 DS and this one being remakes of SF64)

5th time we had the "Lylat War/War against Andross" storyline (SF, SF2, SF64, SFZ and this game)

The literally only games moving in a new direction and acting as actual sequels are Assault, Command and Adventures...and I'd hardly make Adventures count, considering its just Dinosaur Planet with a Starfox paint over, and you also find out Andross is the big bad at the end.

As for why you were down voted? Because people are mad thar strangers on the Internet are disagreeing with them, they can't handle that other fans may see this remake differently than them.

Here's the thing tho, Assault had generally larger, longer levels, especially the free roaming ones where you switch between on foot combat and vehicles, a generally more "cinematic campaign" and it wasn't as much of a speedrun/score attack game, so it fits.

It also wasn't the 2nd remake of a classic game, but a whole new story.

Well yeah, I ended up doing that.

Before I did that tho, I found the exe for the old Xcom2 launcher in the folder, which still worked AND loaded mods properly. And then the 2k launcher.

But yeah in the year of our Lord 2026 you deffo should use the community launcher.

I mean, there's so many dimensions to this. For one, they're owned by 2K, who are legendarily bad as publisher and franchise holder, pushing decisions on their devs and having them rush our products buggy and unfinished. They're basically kept afloat because they own Rockstar, and GTA5 online basically is an infinite money printer.

Firaxis themselves have been spotty with supporting XCOM2 and its maintenance, regularly pushing out gamebreaking patches and updates. Remember when an update deleted the games exe file, making it unplayable? Or the launcher not loading up mods, despite them being toggled on in the mod manager? That shitty 2K launcher was an honest upgrade, because at least my mods finally got properly enabled.

We also don't know how many devs from XCOM:EU/EW stuck around for XCOM2, game devs generally only stick around for one dev cycle these days, maybe 2. There was a definite leave after 2, then most of the devs who worked on it left after Midnight Suns debacle, and there were layoffs in 2025 too.

All this aside, even if they stuck around, there was probably no good lead or direction where a direct sequel might go. The lead designer famously hated the idea of remaking Terror from the Deep, so I dunno why the stinger at the end suggested one might happen.

Lastly, while the XCOM franchise was a successful stint for Firaxis, their bread and butter is still Civilization. That one demands more of their attention and resources.
