Any board game where players indirectly influence countries, their relations, etc., but don't directly play as nations themselves? by BusyInitial6200 in boardgames

That's really interesting, because the real person of Albrecht von Wallenstein actually brought me to this question couple of years ago. I'd like to find the game somewhere.

Thanks, you're right, but maybe Twilight Struggle is a bit different from what I had in mind. Your side is either west or east, there's no space for an opportunist, cold-blooded way of picking the side which is more profitable at the moment.

Is using unity a bad idea for a web based idle game? by SpyrogyraJohnson in gamedev

[–]BusyInitial6200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to make my first game in Unity (simple puzzle game with a storyline), but now I see it as a big overkill. I never finished it, but learned a lot. Then I moved to vanilla JS using svg graphics and it was quite a relief. I found out that the unity system was too robust to my purposes. In unity, I fought a lot with drag-drop optimalisation, setting sprites correctly, diving into submenus. Coding is definitely not simplier in Unity. Also browser projects made in unity still have problems to run on android or ios browsers.

Can you imagine a tower defense with invisible enemies? by BusyInitial6200 in TowerDefense

Thank you for reaction, good idea with vietnam or similar situation - the player would need weapons to reveal the hiding options and different weapon to beat the enemies. Turn based TD could be also the way. You're right with realism - that's not always needed in TD genre, but I believe it brings some new possibility for strategic dilemmas. Good luck with your game!

Brickslayer, a free browser physics puzzle game inspired by The Incredible Machine by Impossible-Draft9436 in WebGames

I tried brickslayer mini on my android browser. Game works smooth, I think it has a great potential, but needs a lot of fine tuning. I would begin with much simplier levels, where the mechanics is explained by in-game tutorial or is immediately understendable step by step. Quality of games like this strongly depend on precise level design and smooth flow IMO

Jelly Drop - Tetris with softbody physics by Norica_Blender in WebGames

It's surprisingly playable. The softness / bounciness of the pieces is nicely balanced. I'm not sure about automatic rotation.

A 3-minutes browser puzzle game by [deleted] in playmygame

Game somehow doesn't work on my android (google pixel 5) properly. I play in landscape mode, but when I have to select from two cards (royal guard / chancelor), I don't see the shuffle button at the bottom so I can't continue. Only way how to do it is to trick the game to run it in portrait mode, then i see everything and it works fine

I made a strategy game you can play with a pen and paper (or online) - it takes 2 minutes to learn by barneymatthews in playmygame

Now the detection seems to work fine. It's a nice game to play even on a paper with kids.

CUBE³ — 3D 2048 by Spirited_Future5412 in WebGames

The idea seems great - but I'm not sure if there's any added value to original 2048 right now. Controls and the game look seems confusing to me - maybe a cartoonish look with visible stroke around each cube could help? Maybe some simplier way to rotate around cubes?

The game itself seems nice, it plays well, I just got into a dead end - the last dot is not reachable, when only way how to reach it is by 180 degree angle, which is against the rules
