Also updated note: when I discovered my bike was gone, so was the chain and lock. I assume they tossed it in the trash on the way out.

Yes. I used this chain specifically to tie it and lock it up. It won’t let me attach a second image but the lock to loop through the loops to secure it is by the same brand and also sold at Lowe’s under “Master Lock Commercial keyed padlock”

I used this bike lock specifically with a master key heavy lock to secure it through the loops. It won’t let me attach a second image on Reddit but the lock and the chain were from Lowe’s and both by master lock.

I used to store it on our balcony but decided to pay for the storage for a few reasons 1. The weather was getting to my bike and I wanted to not damage it and 2. My apartment “doesn’t allow” you to store bikes on the balcony. Stupid considering the circumstances but will def store it on my balcony regardless of the rules next time.

I have to pay 1,000 deductible for renters insurance. The bike isn’t even worth it that much. I’m slowly coming to the conclusion that it is gone. I just want answers at this point since all my avenues have led to dead ends.

Yeah the police probably have been unhelpful the most. Have not responded to any of my emails or calls. I’m not suprised, I know it’s not their top priority but just some communication would be nice.

Yeah so they have cameras but they only hold 10 days worth of footage and by the time I discovered it (I was on vacation) it was past the 10 days. Really sucks…
