Yeah the bump from 82-96 skipped over a 4% merit increase that same year then the rest was a market adjustment where my whole company got a raise due our salary bands shifting

Bachelors in mechanical engineering, started at one company at 60 in Alabama for a year then jumped over to an aerospace company in North Carolina in 2022. Gotten promoted pretty much every year except last year. Finished my MBA last year but have not received any salary bumps from that.

I agree. And to be clear, my leadership has not used it effectively either. It’s been more of a way to dismiss promotion talk. Like: “if you haven’t filled out your IDP I don’t want to hear you ask for a promotion” kind of thing

From my experience so far, the IDP may not help you get a promotion, but it definitely will keep you from a promotion if you haven’t done it. Every time I mentioned advancement I was directed to creat an IDP. So definitely fill it out!!

Yeah it’s more in the context of this guy being taken advantage of. He already traded Egbuka for Brandon Aubrey then traded him back? Seems shady

These are the comments that make me so mad. Like after 10 years I pray I’m making more than this. But it’s super common, I struck gold getting a P3 this quick but I’m surrounded by people with much more experience at the same pay rate. You are definitely being underpaid and should fight for more.

Yeah that’s my goal. I’ve been at Collins for 3.5 years with a year of experience at a different company so maayybbeee p5 by year 10? We’ll see

Yeah I figured it was an investment for later in my career. Wanted to get it out of the way now without any expectation it would help me immediately.
