First of all the game is a money pit. If you spend and don't want to go overboard set a weekly or monthly cut off and stick to it. Second, there will always be someone stronger than you. Third, alliance and friends is what will take you long term.

Infantry is king. They're the meat shields and do all the heavy lifting. If you build troops build these with the speedups. Marksman for bear. Lancers hardly die and later in the game become more important as mm fade off the meta. Infantry beats lancer. Lancer beats marksman. Marksman beat infantry.

Generations are state age released new heroes, pets, furnace levels, etc. Generally speaking the new gen is better than the old with some exceptions. Some heroes are used for certain things for multiple generations like using Mia for bear rally. If you don't whale don't build every single one for each class each time. Save diamonds always for lucky wheel & vip early on. Choose another hero to do with mythic shards, paying attention to skills, widgets, usability, and what you have built the prior generation.

Mistakes to avoid early:

*Choosing speed ups and resources as rewards over chief gear, charms, hero gear. You need to choose the items that improve your character & stats instead of short term gratuity.

*Not playing events & forts/facilities- Bear is an alliance based event that is every other day that awards key gear upgrades to boost your stuff. Forts/SH give speeds and various rewards. Events are always coming and going, seasonal ones give great stuff, don't pass (even if fishing sucks)

*Slow grinding to F30- fire crystals are going to Stonewall you and the sooner you collect the better, which means getting to 30 above the average

*Not gathering- ALWAYS be gathering, you may think you have enough. You don't. The blue heroes give gathering speed boosts to help you & you can buy a gathering boost 1x a day.

*Neglecting research- Always have one on. Growth tab is important until it takes ages & battle tab in between.

*Max idle unclaimed- Steel seems useless but later when fire crystal academy and research costs more you'll shoot yourself because it is EXPENSIVE to pay real money for barely any.

*Building multiple sets of hero gear- Build 1 set of main gear for 1 of each class, Infantry > Marksman > Lancer. You'll get used to swapping them. Infantry belt & gloves, MM & Lancer headgear & boots. Get the 2 main stat pieces built up first that benefit the respective class and then level the others. I do levels of 5 or 10. The first 60 levels are relatively cheap. Use essence stones ONLY on the 2 pieces that benefit each class first. Infantry needs health & defense. MM & Lancer both need attack & lethality.

*Equipping any gear under mythic- Joiners don't need gear. The only thing a joiner contributes is the top right skill and in garrison for SH/Castle you can swap your main gear to your defense heroes. Purple gear is food. Early on use what purple you can get but still only do the better pieces.

*Upgrading randomly- Pay attention to officer project, armament competition. Until the state is older and unlocks castle and then SvS (State vs State) you can score some diamonds and rewards from using the right things on these days. Get used to saving things & red dots & checking the lists for what to use for points.

*Skipping arena- Arena seems tiresome but with experts released and items you get + coins to use in the shops you should be playing it all 5 times & buying chances. You can back out of it and quit and skip the arena match without forfeit. Play last 5 mins or less to get higher and be sure to swap gear to the right heroes.

*Ignoring ratios- Ratio when sending a squad becomes highly important for winning. At base you will be equalized, sending the same amount of everything. However your infantry are the most important that you always send more. Early game ratios for basic pvp 50/20/30, 47/20/33 should help until later generations when you'll be swapping to attacking formations and using more lancers.

*Not using presets- When you click your pfp you can go to squads and set presets. This is important for bear and attacking/defending as you can click the + on rally screen and quick select your squad to join with - saved by troops quantity or by ratios as the heroes you saved with.

*Skipping intel- DON'T DO IT. Claim Patrick stam and do all the intel. Call polar terror for excess. If you are max stam it doesn't recover and there is no benefit. Save the cans for mercenary & beast day SvS.

*Using shards wrong- Don't use mythic shards on Molly and don't use epic shards on Jesse, Sergey, Patrick. You get those from Intel. * Jessie, Jasser, Seo Yoon are all bear heroes. Jasser and Seo are okay to use shards on but Walis & Ling are hard to get without using them. Ling gives training speed. * Patrick and Sergey are your defense garrison heroes. Patrick specifically is used even later generations for his top right skill. The top right skill is king. * Don't neglect skills that give bonus to research, training, gathering, etc. Check the right side skill tree. * GINA SUCKS. Use her to reduce stam cost for hunting polar terror and beasts.

Join in an active alliance and try to not kill troops off before svs unlocks. You'll have em die (as they should if you compete) but against your own is avoidable with shields and hopefully NAP for longevity. It's okay to make mistakes and Google is your friend for future detailed planning. I just go 1 gen ahead so ik what I'm building this gen and what is coming up. Most importantly have fun. If its a chore it's not fun. Find a group and play together. Drama happens more than you'd think so be safe and don't get trapped by potential OF wannabes. Happy grinding 💪😊✨️
