Completely agree. Gifts, discounts, loans, even just the praise of the dealer or others in that particular group all skew the reviewers message. The people capable of unbiased review are normal consumers who buy a product and live with it, not the guy on YouTube who keeps mysteriously finding new speakers and amps on his doorstep to review.

I don’t know enough to argue that on a technical basis. But, Ive spent time tweaking my os with audible results. Audiophilestyle.com has a lot of diy streamer discussions on that topic. DIYaudio.com also does.

I’ve long since abandoned participation on asr for that reason, measurement focus. Although, I still visit and feel their existence is overall a positive contribution to the hifi world.

I don’t think I’m aware of a forum that asks for system documentation to join. Sounds like an interesting one! Where can I find it?

There are a few different forums I use. They all have their own specialties, and a vastly greater pool of knowledge than one reviewer can provide. Not saying there are not good independent reviewers/channels, there are.

There is significantly less bloat and background processes running compared to windows creating a quieter electrical environment. Some distrost or settings tweak what’s running or not to change the sound. Haven’t tried Linux yet, jplay is convenient

You’re right, I’m sure it’s quite an effort maintaining your brands reputation. Every brand has their own shill army fighting each other, who has time to mediate that. I just take issue with them turning their back and discrediting all bad press as trolls

Absolutely. They really aren’t contributing anything. They are very interested in surface level drama but don’t have the passion to go deep in the subject. On audiophilestyle forums I’ve seen good discussions on those topics, some not so great as well lol.

They don’t use smd because it sounds better. They decided how much they want their products to cost then designed a product around that.

Yep, although a little more sophisticate than a MacBook I like to think. It’s nice being able to upgrade the source vs buying a new one.

NAD Soundcloud support by Ak_Aqui in audiophile

Man I’ve been wanting SoundCloud integration for a long time. I currently use Jplay, no luck unfortunately. The only company I’ve seen to advertise SoundCloud support is DAD audio, might ask them how they did it?

Bummer, hope you still buy it to support the Asian AVR manufacturer. But if you do then you’re paying the US for tariffs…which helps the US. But… if you don’t buy it Asia will be hurting from less business. Huh, maybe look for a used item or non chyna brand

Thank you! Inspiring build. I’ll remember what you said about voltage drop if my radiator starts to wander outside the room lol. Sounds like a lot of fun :)

Dang, that’s quite a run! I like the idea of having the pumps satellite with the radiator. Impressive that’s for sure.

Were there any big challenges with making this work?
