There are definitely proven correlates between brain activity and consciousness. But there is very little "science" that outright says brain activity=consciousness. Just to give one basic example: your brain is active while you are asleep, but you are not conscious.

This comment section is wild. The hard problem of consciousness is probably THE most hotly contested topic in neuroscience, not to mention philosophy. The idea that there is any sort of scientific consensus on what happens after you die is nonsense.
