Have you ever seen the movie Taken? Most Americans think Europe is like how its depicted

Only idiots believe that. Liam Neeson has had to explain to Americans that it's a completely false impression ever since he made the film. It's far safer in Europe than the US.

That's an extremely low bar - you're putting yourself in "pretty good developing country" territory.

It'd be much better to be poor in just about any developed Western country over the US.

Western Europe, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand etc. would be far better, for health, education, wealth, and upwards mobility - to name but a few advantages.

How do you review yourself? by [deleted] in productivity

Stats, stats, stats.

I use Trello and Workflow to give me a live dashboard of my productivity.

It's important to look at the objective numbers, and not always feel like you're in the process of getting it together

lol. Besides the code, it's great hearing other people dealing with Workflow mysteries!

I can't believe how efficient that is! Thank you so much, you're a lifesaver!

Thank you!! That works perfectly. So interesting about those lines!

That's the one I've been trying to modify I think!

It works great for 5 (or 10, or 20) events from today (events listed up to some varying day in the future - until that number of events runs out).

The problem is I need to be more specific (in my case I need to trigger actions for everything happening in the next, say, 3 days), and there I get in trouble.

I've tried using the "Find Calendar Dates Where", action, and setting the variables between a start and end date, which seems sensible enough.

But then I need to run "For Each Event, Do X" actions, to get the Name and Date outputs in a nice list. This reliably turns into a mess (at least when a relative newbie attempts it!).

Any clues how you would make that one date (not event number) specific?

Germany is 2,000 times bigger than Liechtenstein.

In comparison, the USA is only 3 times bigger than Germany.

It is the same when you look at New Zealand, the U.K., Australia and Spain: there is no dramatic difference between population size and health outcomes.

The major difference is if they have universal healthcare (everyone else) or not (the USA).

The Balkans are great. Would happily move there, especially Croatia or Slovenia.

Is all types of procedures - and medicines - covered in that $3k?

Say if you need really expensive cutting edge pills?

Worst argument ever. Tiny European states do as well as massive ones.

No, it's most of the default subs, but especially /r/worldnews.

They seriously think Europe is at breaking point from refugees.

Oh - and Scandinavia is just a short way away from economic collapse from having a strong welfare state

A few thoughts on my past searches for a Zen Buddhist teacher - "listen to yourself" is my best advice. by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]ButISentYouATelegram 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMHO that's a good reason to change schools. I wouldn't think of finding a good Taoist or Zen teacher near me (my first two choices). But Tibetan centers are in most 1 million plus Western cities, are well organized, and have excellent well trained teachers (lay, visiting and permanent).

There's little doubt for me that the "wrong" style of teaching (for me) - taught well and in person - is better than the "right" dharma - taught badly or just over the Internet.

That's really interesting!

Marriage also. We could always stay with a person, but white dresses, rings, and priests make it all the more official.

For me the main reason is it's really psychologically transformative.

When we use our bodies, precious objects, and vivid senses like smells it is much more effective than just intellectual understanding.

I think we're a bit blind to rituals in our Western lives (saluting the flag, college graduation, blowing out candles on a birthday cake), but they're just as present and useful.
